In office hours being tracked

Someone commented in one of the earlier posts about how the company has been tracking hours in office… has anyone here heard of this and can confirm?

We need Positivity. I predict a COLA.

I’m taking a contrarian view and I think we see a COLA announcement. 5 days in the office doesn’t make sense when inflation has eaten wages and employees are running out of gas on their commute.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT THURSDAY’S TOWNHALL

What has happened to one of the most ethical companies in America? Proudly working at TIAA is now a thing of the past. Buckle up, as you think last August was bad, you have not seen anything yet. More secrets and showstoppers are expected. Wait until... — read more

The company has lost its heart and soul

Seems like this place is nothing more than an AI buzzword and LinkedIn post factory. Seems like leadership forgot the mission of the company. I don’t see any work that actually drives forward the mission just Sastry parading about AI with our... — read more

MO Bragging about skirting regulations with AI

I have never had a lot of confidence in our leadership but M and S bragging about how their use AI...Let's just say it'd be a lot more cost effective to just get rid of the EC than any of us.

Private Asset Management Exodus

Private Asset Management (PAM) just had three senior PM departures… all CFAs… in the last week. PAM hasn’t hired a new CFA in the last year- I guess the “subscribe or die” wasn’t a good idea from the RDs. The role is turning into a relationship... — read more

Make it make sense

Sweet! More time to color like we’re in corporate kindergarten. 😒 Can they fire whoever keeps putting out the coloring sheets in CLT? It’s insulting when we haven’t had raises in years but hey here’s some coloring sheets and crochet... — read more

Mid year reviews

Any chance there will be significant amount of layoffs/pressure for people who are “underperforming “?

Yet another class action lawsuit

Did anyone else receive notice of the Wojan v. TIAA class action regarding wage theft for FSCs between 2018 and 2024? Orange County, FL case 2025-CA-003720-0 for those inclined to Google it. I’ll be happy to add that four figure settlement amount to... — read more

Severance questions

This goes out to anyone receiving a severance or who has received one and is no longer here. Some of us were told about a month ago that we have to decide if we want to take severance or relocate to another office out of state. We were given a June... — read more

MygAIt usaged being monitored…

And TIAA wants us to use it regularly as “we” have invested a lot of money in the technology. Sounds to me that they want to use our usage to train the model and put us all out of jobs.

Nuveen layoffs in February

Hi all, In February I was let go from nuveen for unknown reasons. Had good performance reviews and nothing negative. I heard there was an article on the intranet with some details. Does anyone have any insight? Btw, I'm at a much better firm now — read more

There’s nothing ahead but more cuts

Do you really believe this leadership can make us competitive? Or, God forbid, come up with a strategy and ideas that would make us solid for the foreseeable future? The writing has been on the wall for a long time. The only lesson from all the... — read more

Transferring internally to a different team

Has anyone done this? Or know anyone that has transferred to a different team? Looking to pivot to a different role within the company, but a bit hesitant about doing so. Not sure if this would put a target in my back when the next round of layoffs... — read more

Fidelity, Voya, and Empower Taking Over

More client losses and job cuts for TIAA. The only thing go for us is the TIAA Traditonal restriction. If there were no surrenders or timing restrictions on that fund, our ratings would tank in a NYC minute.

Engagement Survey Results

Look at that - “recognition” and “pay and performance” dropped 7 points - who’d have thunk it. What doesn’t get called out is the senior leadership items. “Senior Leader Trust” is down 8 points since the full survey in March 2023 and is well below... — read more

Accenture

What is the latest about the partnership with Accenture ? The good, the bad, and the ugly ? How many job losses and how much are the synergies costing TIAA ?

Quitting

Is 2 weeks required? Thinking about quitting after bonuses next year, or end of this year. Would I need to give 2 weeks notice? Does HR conduct exit interviews? Has anyone been offered even more money to stay?

First Quarter Result

Net income negative $407,362,484.00 Capital & Surplus down $551 million. On a positive note: The New York Liberty defeated The Washington Mystics 86-78 in WNBA action.

TIAA is going BKWD…

This company is going backward not forward. Not paying associates fairly, no raises in 3+ years for most, forcing RTO at the expense of talented tenured associates yet promoting AI and other technologies that people have experience with in other... — read more

Does TIAA do exit interviews?

And if so, would you be honest or say nothing not to burn any bridges? I'm tempted to just be completely honest, but I know it's risky.

"Culture" of no raises UNLESS you're EC

I am a manager of a sizeable team and an associate came into my office yesterday in tears. She is having trouble making ends meet -- her rent has gone up 15% over the past 3 years, day care is increasingly unaffordable AND her salary has been flat... — read more

CAO testifying today in Diddy trial

Derek Ferguson is scheduled to testify today in Diddy trial in New York. This should be very interesting testimony. He managed Diddy’s company and personal finances so he has to have a ton of information.

Got notice recently

I work in a very small niche part of the company. Very client facing, including many of the largest institutions. Also our work affects thousands of plan participants directly. They decided to shutter the unit, with virtually no time to transition... — read more

The Company Culture is Depression

We care about your mental health but you better get that A-s in a seat to be on zoom for 3 days a week. Aren’t you excited about Frisco? You get to deal with the fallout from Denver, picking up the slack, and force-hiring lesser talent in Texas at... — read more

gAItway to he-l

just when I didn't think this place could get more mediocre, we're forcing AI down peoples throats. Sorry to nuveen and everyone who supports anything remotely environmental or educational...saving a buck and brain cell is more important!
