Manager RTO Update

Multiple departments in Fargo told to return to office starting as early as May and as late as July.

Friday layoffs

I've heard a few people mention layoffs on 4/19, does anybody know more about what that could be about? Friday is a weird day for layoffs (mostly they take place midweek, Tuesday through Thursday) so I'm not putting much stock into those rumors, but... — read more

Another CEO says WFH should not go away

Maybe Andy and the managing committee should take the hint from this CEO https://www.cnbc.com/2024/01/29/owl-labs-ceo-top-things-bad-bosses-should-stop-doing-this-year.html

Post Takedown

There was a post here taken down about "crumbling" - the only way it was taken down is someone contacted this platform and told them to take it down. If that is the case, this platform is not as protected or anonymous as they claim.

RTO or not to RTO?

I’ve heard rumors of softening RTO now after a failed rollout, but also that managers are starting “RTO conversation with employees training”?

Severance?

Does anyone know what the severance policy is? It used to be in the HR site, but it seems to be gone.

We are a product, Soylent Green

The RTO employee is the product. You drive, forced to live in a city, have to pay taxes, have to spend on xyz. If you’re 95% less productive than at home it doesn’t matter because every company is making more money off of you. Cars, clothes, food... — read more

Goals in workday

Are any other groups seeing ridiculously unattainable goals for 2024? It's almost like they are setting us up to fail.

Update on Fully Remote

Any updates from HR folks or managers on what the plan is for fully remote employees not near a HUB or any other US Bank office? Will these employees be safe long term, or will they be phased out?

RTO

Is there anyone who is remote or hybrid AND lives near a HUB location but not being required to RTO 3 days a week or at all? I've been hearing there are some teams that are remote and do live near HUBS but their managers have pushed back against RTO... — read more

consulting company

Does anyone know if a consulting company was bought in for all of these changes? I checked the Wells Fargo and Bank of America boards, it seems like the same kinds of things are happening and they refer to a company called McKinsey.

Do I smell collusion?

Seems like RTO is being pushed by all banks as a sneaky way to increase flopping real estate prices in left leaning cities.

COBRA

Does anyone know what the rates are for COBRA ?

Employee appreciation week

So tomorrow is last day for senior leadership to celebrate employee appreciation week. Are they going to let us log off early tomorrow to celebrate and to show their appreciation?

30% pay increase from WFH to RTO

https://www.cnbc.com/2024/03/27/remote-workers-get-up-to-30percent-pay-increase-for-switching-to-in-office-jobs-says-new-research.html Not for us though! All we get is 2 hours commute and $ 5k expenses for commuting to dangerous downtown office with... — read more

Development Plans

What’s up with the push to create these development plans in Workday? All the bank has done is cut jobs the last handful of years plus they’ve never invested any money in training or certifications for employees. It feels pretty disingenuous when... — read more

Marketing reorg and layoff

At least 3 Data scientists and some leadership was let go with 1 month notice. Worst part of this is we are not communicated properly how many were let go. And with reorg, we dont know what we gonna do in a few weeks. Is this the first wave??

WFH Pay VS RTO Pay

I was hired in 2016 as a remote employee. Pay was not great but I loved it because it was flexible and i don't mind taking weekend issues. We all know pay at the Bank is way below any other companies. Yearly performance always a 4 and rarely 3. Bonus... — read more

Volunteering to be laid off

Anyone know if this is even an option? Doing the work of others after they were let go plus your own work makes no sense. Especially since I never did their work before.

It’s long past time we form a union

In light of recent management decisions it's time we unite and form a union. Collective action is necessary to push back against management's unilateral decisions.

Layoff Mechanics

How does US Bank let you know you're being laid off? Does HR send you an email? Boss call you? HR set up a Teams call with you? Usually happen 1st thing in the morning or late afternoon?

Contact Center exempt from RTO?

The contact center teams (24 HB) are mostly remote, with many in the southern states where we have no presence. Newer employees, grades 6/7. Word on the street is that they are exempt from RTO. Can anyone confirm? If so, why?

3/18 it has started

I understand layoffs started on Friday, 3/15, and are expected to continue the week of 3/18. Platform tech had some. In some areas, there were supposed to be some more notifications on 3/18, with leadership calls scheduled on 3/19, maybe to talk... — read more

New VPN

The new VPN will be tracking your location. It will capture your “home IP” and if it detects you are off it you will need to get the new IP approved. To the remote folk with no “hub” at ELAVON/USB… the end is near! It was a fun ride. Exec... — read more

Azure

USB = U Should Bolt

Time for more layoffs, all the other banks are doing so. What do people think? 🤔 Give us your thoughts & comments.

Europe?

Has anyone heard any news about layoffs in locations outside of the US? I'm curious whether their soft layoff RTO tactic is in addition to larger reductions.

USBEF (Leasing)

I know various people are no longer in the org chart this morning. All that I know of are out of Portland (Tigard office). Does anyone have details?

Chicago RTO

Has anyone in the Chicago area been notified that they need to RTO? Will 30 miles be the radius used for our particular hub, or will it be something shorter be used given the longer commute times? I’m assuming our hub office is the downtown Rookery... — read more

Fully Remote

Has anyone heard what will happen to those fully remote employees not close to a HUB location or any other US Bank office location? I know nothing official has been decided yet, but wondering if anyone in HR or management has heard anything.
