Topics regarding layoffs at U.S. Bank

Merit and Incentive

Incentive pool funded at 120% and merit at 4%. Both are significant improvements from years prior. Likely too little too late, especially after last year. Still expect a bloodbath in early March.

What kind of employees do they want?

Increasingly, I think the US Bank does not want happy employees, which would be common sense because happier employees are more productive and better employees. But no, they want employees who have been undervalued for so long that their... — read more

Manager is a bumbling buffoon

So many managers have gotten their position due to the sheer amount of time that they’ve been with that bank. My manager has zero idea how to manage people, piles on useless work with zero direction, and couldn’t make a decision to save his life... — read more

Voluntary layoffs

I'm hoping against hope the bank decides to offer voluntary layoffs with decent severance sometime soon. I'd leave on my own but finding a good job at my age with half-decent pay is harder today than it has ever been. I'm just a few years away from... — read more

Even small banks pay more than US Bank

I've been looking for a way out and I've gotten several offers. Each came with higher pay than I get here after four years with the bank. I'm still not sure which offer (if any) I want to take since all of them require relocating, but it really bugs... — read more

USB could care less about employees

Whether someone is loyal, hardworking, talented, engaged........ here it has become irrelevant. Is there anyone who actually feels valued here?

No update on return to office

Seems like no one knows what’s going on…why is US bank always the last to do everything? Literally just wait for all the other banks and follow their lead. I guess US bank doesn’t give two shts that people need to rearrange their schedules only to be... — read more

Merit at 3.5% is….laughable

Overheard that they are planning 3.5% merit…is this supposed to keep employees at US Bank? We are in the midst of great resignation and you can literally get 15-20% increase elsewhere and work remote.

Many say that there’s no real compensation tied to promotion and titles, but I wonder if the promotion helped anyone get a much better job elsewhere? If so, then it is still worth the effort to get a promotion. Just sayin'. I don't like people who... — read more

Under valued

Seems like at US Bank every quarter workers that do the bare minimum are promoted to Officers, Assistant VPs, and VPs. While the hard workers go unnoticed.

No PBP, No Severance and Vaccine Mandates

Since these notifications came out and all the chatter around it at least 30% of the department is ready to call it quits. It’s a complete sh-t show at US Bank. Good luck replacing that many people.

Is it true that those who haven’t been here much longer than a year are also just as likely to be targeted for cuts as are older employees with years of experience? That's what I heard from several colleagues.
