Proxy Voting - Only Veterans on the Board

As an USAA member for over 35 years, Just completed the proxy voting for whatever it is worth. Only veterans got my vote for the board. Others seem to be causing USAA to go downhill. Several questions regarding the change to the by-laws. It... — read more

The Office

Being in the office 3 days a week for 8 hours each day feels a lot like being in prison, but without 3 free meals per day and free cable TV. #WayneSucks #FireWaybe

July 20th Layoffs

Just be prepared my friends. There will be at least one more round by the end of the year as well.

Learning from actors strike?

Should we be learning something from them ? Their beef is around AI replacing their jobs and CEOs getting millions of dollars while others get much less and or no work. ( I know cry me a river but hear me out ) why don’t we are Corp america workers... — read more

P&C Manager

During our Friday meeting the team was voicing their frustration due to the amount of complaining coming from the members, call volume, Etc. Also that we feel like we’re getting the short end of the stick because our numbers aren’t in line like they... — read more

EDAO Meeting - flat as a pancake

This is a monthly meeting held for people to voice concerns to upper management, who really don't even pretend to care anymore. One person was brave enough to point out process flaws and lack of management participation in readouts, only to get a... — read more

Started outsourcing

Changed password and had to contact tech support. Normally tech support experience has been done with Usaa employees, but was surprised that it’s been outsourced. It took 3x slower than normal and not efficient. One shouldn’t be on call for over an... — read more

If 2023 is another loss

If it’s announced next year that 2023 was another loss for the company, there is no possibility that Wayne keeps his job, right!?!

When Enough People Make False Promises...

Then words mean nothing. Jon Snow said this when he refused to take a vow to a leader he did not believe in. USAA just lost more than $1.3B. They just lost.more than the $12B+ valuation. They have lost their reputation. Their words mean nothing... — read more

The grass is greener folks!

I know USAA has many kool-aid drinkers, many who believe the company can do no bad because we “know what it means to serve.” I left in May for WaFd Bank, same job function (credit cards) higher salary and fully remote! Yes folks, if you want a fully... — read more

I AM A MEMBER

So I worked at USAA for 12 years, but I have been a member for 47 years because my father was a military officer. So as a member, I would like to know how I can communicate with the board of directors without having to go through the a-s hats at... — read more

FTE Work From Home

Keep slobbering on the peacock. I will fi d another job where I don't have to su-k on objects to stay employed.

P&C Department

Get ready for managers to most likely be even angrier and take their cr-p out on you even more.. apparently they’re going to start taking calls. It’s going to be through the directory for escalations. So now the work from home managers that don’t do... — read more

It won't be surprising if they start to overwhelm us even more

It wouldn't surprise me at all. If the manager already doesn't know when enough is enough, then we can expect them to start being even more unrealistic with their demands, right? That is, until eventually burned-out employees end up quitting.

RUN.

Run and run quickly. USAA is not the same company anymore. Those of you who drank the kool-aide need to snap out of it. I left abruptly a few weeks ago for a better opportunity and I thank myself every day that I made that decision. At this point the... — read more

Jumped the Burning Ship

BURNING SHIP USAA I finally did it... This place has changed so much and it’s just living he-l to work there now. I was one of the top performers in the DISTRICT… at least thats what I was fed by my manager… I was treated so differently when my... — read more

Loving this comment

"The Managers enacting these tactics are people who cannot find great jobs. And they will be shredded in the very same machine they are currently feeding."

I got fired from USAA in May

This is a pretty long story and I contemplated for a few weeks if I should share but thankfully at this point, I was able to find a new job quickly so here goes. I started at USAA in summer of 2021 during the worker bo-m. I was at my previous firm... — read more

Anyone else cross train in detections?

Think they are setting you up for failure. I just started cross training in detections and weent through a few days trining and already got fails from qa for the most stupidest reason….

PIPs are not good.

"I've literally worked in HR for a Fortune 500. I'm telling all of you as a matter of fu----g FACT that PIPs are not meant to be completed. HR even tells managers when they want to fire someone "okay, put them on a PIP and start collecting... — read more

Did anyone else notice logging in from the office does show VPN anymore? I am thinking they are about to start tracking in office work by how we are logged in. I know other banks doing this. I am thinking they are about to crack down on the people... — read more

USAA Long-Term Survival Plan

Just be like that AVP that was the emcee for the 101st Birthday Celebration. If you read this profile on Connect for this piece of executive trash, he "created" the position he is in. So while people who do actual work are laid off, this talentless... — read more

You will be lined up for failure.

Be aware. Take care of yourself and your future. When the quota and numbers come from above they won’t take care of you. When it’s about to rain bring your umbrella.

What if I just don’t go in?

So I live within the 60 mile radius but it would be almost two hours a day commuting which I refuse to do. I’ve heard vague comments about it affecting my performance but I don’t fully understand the consequences of not going in and I can’t get a... — read more

Q2 Check Ins

Q2 coming up in the next few weeks. The grapevine is saying Directors/Managers are being pushed to call out low and average performers and put them on PIPs. If true, going to make Q3 and Q4 interesting as far as staffing goes. Interesting way to get... — read more

Aren’t we overdue for an employee meeting?

Seems like it’s been quite a while since the last one but maybe I’m just losing it. Can’t wait to have more smoke blown up our a-s about how great the company is while morale continues to tailspin.

Too much silence

From last couple of days I am seeing too much silence in my team.. even very less folks join the scrum. Something fishy !

Hybrid Postings!!

They really need to stop being so damn misleading in the hiring process. They lied to so many of us with bait and switch. Now, they are posting roles as hybrid. I am sorry but 4 days in the office is not a hybrid role.

Salary negotiation

I'm curious how many of those who were rehired managed to negotiate a bigger salary? I doubt that many of them did because I believe that only those who did not find any alternative in the meantime returned here.
