RTO/Hybrid announcement?

I’m seeing a lot of post about upset employees when it comes to remote and RTO, but no context is giving. What was said? Or what is the rumor going around?

USAA can't be trusted

This is the message that we need to get out there. They lied to their employees, they'll lie to their customers. USAA can no longer be trusted. If we can get that message out in mass this will come back and bite them in the a-s.

Hired as a remote employee

For now, my status seems very uncertain as to whether I will remain remote or not. What worries me is how much more susceptible those who remain remote will be to getting rid of them in the foreseeable future?

CEO Town Hall last week in Phx Unprofessional

Not sure if anyone else was there or saw the recording but I was actually floored when Wayne pretty much made fun of remote workers saying they learned in the attack or basement. The attitude about workers in general was a joke and all I got out of... — read more

Wells Fargo Leadership destroying USAA

It was so predictable that when they hired the likes of Mani Sulur and George S and Lesley Collins that they would bring their nonsense from Wells to USAA! Using the forced attrition with location strategy method is complete nonsense. There is a... — read more

RTO woes

Word on the street is that the additional "guidance" on RTO that Wayne promised two weeks ago is coming out sometime today. And it likely won't be pretty. Mentally prepare yourself.

There is no trust here at all

The example of RTO clearly shows how little trust this company has in its employees. On the other hand, perhaps the trust we have in the management of this company is even less?

One major mistake

Since USAA broke their own protocols and changed leadership from prior service to civilians and the association is moving backwards. We lost pride and the morale is down. Sad to see USAA heading in the wrong direction. This is one of the main... — read more

RTO Not for all

The recent mandated RTO has not been enforced for all depts. Just ask anyone who works in the CFO office. Hybrid employees are being asked to be in office 3 days, but permanent work from home employees have been advised to continue working remotely... — read more

Pay Raise

Has anyone gotten a significant pay raise when being promoted from Sr. To Lead? Anything in the 40-50% range? Also which LOB as I’ve heard bank is better pay.

For the fully remote employees…

Anyone hear anything through the grapevine? I’m not located near any of the offices and was hired semi-recently as a fully remote tech employee. With the recent layoffs and RTO mandate, things seem dreadful and I feel pretty isolated from my... — read more

I don't care anymore

I'm tired of worrying about what will happen to this company and how management's moves will affect its future. Why should we care about it more than those at the top who are paid to do so? Everyone should primarily think of themselves and... — read more

Racist comments / employee

There’s someone here who keeps making some weird racist comments. You’re on the wrong forum. Go to truth social. You can go rant your racists sh-t there in that scary echo chamber of MAGA alt-right freaks. Additionally, please leave our company... — read more

Consultants

Once again, consultants are taking over this place. They are busy trying to figure out our new operating model and re-org to eliminate. It’s baffling that we are trying to save money but everywhere there are multiple companies consulting across the... — read more

Risk and compliance roles?

Does anyone know if risk and compliance roles will be impacted any time soon? Specifically in Bank? I have been hearing rumors of late June, but no clue if there is any truth to that or not. Was already feeling forced out due to being remote... — read more

Closing offices to save money

I'm not EMG, nor do I have a fancy MBA. But it seems the easiest way to "cut costs" would be to close one (or more) of the regional offices that's barely being used, is having trouble hiring, and isn't a major "talent hub". It seems the solution is... — read more

Want your voice to be heard? Use EXP survey.

Flood EXP survey and let leadership hear you. This year eNPS & eSAT are scorecard metrics. These are fed by the quarterly EXP surveys you get. So hit Executives where they actually listen and will respond (their own wallets). Venting on here... — read more

Remote employees should sue USAA

If you are remote and not located in Texas, you should seriously look into your legal options for suing USAA. Especially if you were laid off. Labor laws vary by state to state and if you are not in Texas, you are not entitled to the same laws as... — read more

What’s the deal with USAA?

All EMGs are now mandated into the office 4 days a week. If they are remote, they are mandated to be at AN office for 10 days a month, yet, USAA has banned all travel for 2023. Plus, there are tons of rumors flying around they are about to force a 5... — read more

Wayne Peacock please read me.

For those of us who would recommend Wayne Peacock resign please like this post. Mr. Peacick, In all fairness you have created such a toxic work environment that if a bold move like this is not done then USAA may never return to it's respected &... — read more

Let's call them by their right name

Calling layoffs adjustments... What are they even trying to do? They are just raising the level of frustration here and nothing else.

Wrong people let go - again

USAA once again let go of some of the best people on our team. These people weren't just smart and driven, they were a blast to be around. This just proves that this company can't even recognize the amazing talent they have right in front of them... — read more

The sad truth

Had nothing to do with performance. It was all about headcount and salaries. All the low performers already got released a couple of years ago. Last October’s wave of layoffs included high performers. This is the sad truth. There are very few low... — read more

Older employees

I understand a lot of those laid off were older employees.

Compliance teams hit hard

USAA saying the recent layoffs “are a normal part of running a healthy business during an economic downturn,” is ridiculous. Laying off your compliance, regulatory, and risk governance teams (not just individual employees) leaves a huge gap in the... — read more

Tamla Oates-Forney needs to be fired ASAP

The current return to office policy is a nightmare and is at her direction. She clearly isn’t qualified for the role she fills and HR has gone from bad to worse. There has not been one good thing to come from her or HR. It’s pretty pathetic that... — read more
