The future of work

How out of touch do you have to be to refer to RTO as the "future of work?" Everybody and their mother know that all the smart companies are pivoting to WFH permanently because that's obviously the way of the future, but not us. No, for us, the old... — read more

They dream of younger and less expensive employees

This is a fine idea, they will slowly replace us, older employees with experience with new hires who do not have much experience but are not expensive. However, they seem to completely ignore the fact that this place is no longer attractive to the... — read more

I don't think they expected this

I feel a little embarrassed and sad that I am one of the few who hasn't resigned. I couldn't find anything better. However, I was also surprised by how many colleagues gave notices, but I guess it was an even bigger surprise for BNYM? I don't believe... — read more

RTO 7th Executions

Haven't been receiving emails my coworkers have been receiving. I assume that means the unvaxxed will be liquidated on Monday? Or are they just going to keep giving me the silent treatment? Fire me or don't you cowards

RTO March 7th

I can’t wait to return. Free coffee and tea. Photo station to take selfies with all my coworkers. Smile for the camera. No smooching 💋💋 what’s better than that? Perhaps ice cream with sprinkles 🍦🍦🍦

Lot of East Coast employees got RIF'd

I know of at least 40 people who got let go since September, lot of them recently in February. All making 6 figures and very good at their jobs. Mostly white males in there 40s/50s. London also hit fairly hard.

Micromanaging simply doesn’t work.

Micromanaging has been a known occurrence for a long time now. I, as a long-timer at the company, remember the times when that kind of management was not present. A manager would give you guidelines on what to do and later value your work as you... — read more

Supreme court

BNYM is waiting for the appeal decision that went to the court after the Texas circuit court to see if they can mandate. I hope they get slapped with a major dose of reality .

Just do it

All you coming on here just to say I hate BNYM or I’m giving notice don’t have the ba--s. That’s why you’re on here instead of typing up that resignation letter you keep talking about

Exodus

I’m waiting to see the mass exodus tomorrow I’m guessing I’ll be waiting a long time

BNY holding, transacting Russian securities / cash

What amount of Russian stuff is BNY involved with for clients? I would guess Corporate Trust would be involved, and Custody. I know one large Custody client with billions at BNY, and our sub-custodian Citi. Are sanctions going to touch this?

Employee Appreciation day

How tf are you going to have a day to recognize how great employees are when 90% of the building is wfh at that time. Can we say another slap in the face ?

FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO QUIT WITH NO NOTICE

BNY can do nothing to you. I am getting a bonus so they can claw that back. But if you never received a bonus they can claw NOTHING back!! Also, they still have to offer you COBRA and pay you for all unused and earned vacation time.

Not looking forward to "people"-ing again

As an essential in-office worker, the thought of seeing people again fills me with dread LOL. These past two years have felt like a vacation at work (in the building). Don't take that the wrong way- oh, trust me: I have worked my tail off. I am just... — read more

We are already understaffed

These cuts that rumors are circulating about will only spur an even bigger wave of departures, as everyone is losing patience with doing double workloads. Given that we are already understaffed, that a large number of people are missing, cuts would... — read more

Exemptions to stay on WFH question

I'm trying to get an answer to this question but no luck so far with any of my managers and of course the town hall on RTO today was less than helpful. If we apply for an exemption to work from home and it is granted are we basically volunteering to... — read more

Goals are irrelevant aren’t they?

It’s that time where arbitrary goals are pushed down for everyone; the problem is that most are immeasurable and performance reviews boil down to who on the team got through their day with less handholding.

Maybe it’s time to rethink their expectations

Leadership's expectations are ridiculous. Do they really think that employees will be committed to ensuring that BNYM meets expectations while that same leadership operates below every expectation of its employees? It's high time they rethink... — read more
