I've heard there might be more layoffs at Belk this week, can anybody confirm or deny this?

Managers now are just “pickers” for online orders, nothing more. most STM’s (now working under reduced pay) don’t realize they are being taken advantage of by belk, or maybe they do realize it and are desperate for a job.

The money that Belk owes vendors and for rent is no joke, they are in serious trouble, just regional managers and a few select store managers know how bad it really is.

Some stores laid off employees (housekeeping, visual, HR, cash office) that were called back to work after stores reopened on 5/1, they were given packages depending on how long they were with the company

Has she commented on the state of the business? Or is she just mute trying to avoid talking responsibility for driving this heap of sh– in the ground?

belk is past due in rent/vendor/ corporate credit cards??? That can’t last that long before it’s total collapse of the business

Both the store manager and regional manager have been acting very strangely this week, almost as if they want to tell us something but can’t. the tension is too much to handle.

So many complaints on Facebook about missing, wrong or broken items, and packages not shipped even though customers have been charged. Sounds like fraud to me!

Sycamore’s dead to buy Victoria’s Secret is now cancelled, they back out of the deal.

Can someone tell me what would justify an executive making 300 or 400X the average employee, any opinions?

The only thing associates and store management can do is make their voices heard, or possibly stage walkout/protest like they are doing at Macy’s, target, and amazon on May 1st, leadership like this cannot continue to ruin American corporations.

I have been a manager at Belk for about five years and this is by far the worst I have seen it. Everything is hanging on by a thread, It's like a house of cards about to collapse at any minute.
