BL missed out again on honors list so we will see a continued effort to save the world and spend shareholder money on renewable projects with no returns. At least two execs will leave under misconduct cloud. BPX will be spun off as it’s really done... — read more
We need a new DE&I champion.
We need a new leader in this space - MC is not getting it done and nobody can relate to him. Asians are largely unrepresented so we should start there. There are also too many leaders that are DE&I development projects that cost too much and the... — read more
Stat review
So after 70 years we’re ending this? Does it have any relation to when BL manipulated it completely to set a business case for reinvent? Or is it because that business case has now proven to be completely flawed……
Pulse Survey
Can someone who has actually seen the base data tell me how on earth the Pulse survey results are showing that people are more engaged. I think they have just cherry-picked the results and are hiding the rest but they'd never show the full data set... — read more
BP Layoffs 2023
This thread is for info about potential BP layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?
Better Options Than BPX
I just left this place and landed a geo role paying 20k more a year and they actually appreciate me. Wish I would have left sooner. I hated the way I was talked to and treated. I reported these issues to Ethics and Compliance but they did nothing... — read more
One off payment
UK one off payment is flat 6% up to Grade F. I am wondering how much this payment is in different regions given it is equitable - US, Egypt, Azerbaijan. Anyone knows?
Grade Level Salaries
Please share yours. Here is my info: US G Upstream - 25 years experience - 225K, not including bonus.
Why is BP such a poor performer?
Safety. Skirt chasing by managers. Personnel selection and development. Lagging share price.
Bpx-A Special Place
I'd recommend getting out of here as soon as you can. There are so many better options waiting for you out there. These leaders don't care about you at all.
Overpaid Again
The funny accounting for the valuation of the Archaea acquisition is complete rubbish. I too have a pipeline of projects and a lot of hope I can sell you. The bankers get rich, the Rice bros get rich, and the bp shareholders and employees get stuck... — read more
Inflation UK
At the UK webcast today, with Bernard and Louise we heard what bp does to back Britain… energy bill support for retail employees, few million on charity donations and new projects in the UK! All these positive, but seems that Bernard was not keen to... — read more

Who is getting fired as a result of the explosion at Toledo? BP’s US CEO, Dave Lawler?
Someone needs to be held accountable. If the same leaders are left in the same seats it will only happen again. Put the orange shirts and empty suits away and put more resources on the line. If BP “cares” the heads will roll. If not, these managers... — read more
Cost cutting goals are ambitious without reducing headcount.
Heard recently that bp is trying to reduce costs by 20% YoY… Switching to a cheaper coffee for the office isn’t going to help enough. How else will they reduce the cost of business without cutting contractors and employees?
Hires from big software companies
BP hired some people from big software companies. Has it helped the company? Is software work at BP similar to that of a pure software company? BP probably offered very good compensations to these people.
What are the places to avoid working at in BP (if possible)?
BP is not uniformly bad. There are places where there is still a good work culture/environment/balance compared to others. What are the undesirable areas, BUs, departments? Why?
GLCE. Wastes of money

False flag
Rumors about cost cutting were planted by St. James, so they can blame the false rumors for the bad Pulse results. The reality is reinvent was mismanaged and employees are not happy about it. Bernie wants to place the blame on something else. Later... — read more

You can leave this company. It is doable.

Has anyone regretted leaving?
At my age, it’s hard to start from scratch and that’s why I hesitate to quit. On the other hand, I personally haven't heard that anyone regretted leaving.
Not even oil prices raise morale
I plan to be here just a little longer. True leaders would think about why now that oil is high the morale of employees is as low as it was in the midst of a pandemic when demand had fallen sharply as people stopped traveling. Just saying.
