Historically speaking.
How much of the Devon staff is kept from Past acquisitions? WPX for starters….

How long do yall think before anadarko and Marcellus basins both get sold after the merger? Kimmeridge and Toms Capital are both very vocal on Devon leaving these assets behind, and Kimmeridge was supposedly a big factor on forcing Coterra into... — read more

I wonder how long this will last. I’m guessing two years to avoid severance pay. Having accounting folks in Houston seems like they had no choice because they were totally against it originally. Thoughts????? Hopefully the new mgmt is better... — read more

Midland update
Seems like fewer folks than originally thought actually want to move to OKC. It will be 50/50 Permian staff in OKC and Midland. Seems like they are favoring continuity over cutting folks.
Twiddling the thumbs, waiting for the other boot to drop..
Ahhh, gotta love the glorious anticipation that we are all subjected to while expected to ignore it and keep working. Not the first one of these I’ve been through here, but the angst is palpable. Wish we had a date to prepare for.

“Everyone wants to move to OKC”
This is what is being repeated in the tower. How accurate is that?
D-Day
Any news on the June 18th announcement? Does anyone have any more info on how big the layoffs are or how long they expect people to stick around and "transition"?

Another day and no news
What, exactly, did they pay a consultant millions of dollars for? Let the incompetence continue
Permian Retention Plan
Costs are on the rise and there is plenty of work in West Texas. What will Devon do to retain their talent? News of Houston and OKC retention bonuses will only further ruin field morale.
Layoffs Cancelled!!!
Layoffs can't happen now because we need retain employees to develop all this new acreage we got today!
Houston retention bonuses
Well well well looks like Devon bit off more than they could chew. 1 year salaries being offered to select groups in Houston to stay on in the Houston office because OKC can’t absorb it.
The Cowardice of Bad Management
For the Devon side - this one should sound familiar. “Many managers actively avoid confrontation or honest feedback because it requires emotional maturity. Rather than doing the job they are paid for, these individuals let problems fester until they... — read more
How deep are the cuts going to go?
$1B is a shitload of "synergies." I've heard ~$300M of that will be G&A cuts (sic, layoffs). Doing some back of the envelope math, $300M divided by an average total comp burden of like $150-200k works out to like 1,500-2,000 jobs. He-l, even if it's... — read more

Any actual PEOPLE updates?
Seeing updates about the technology the company will be using, but nothing about when people will receive updates about jobs or locations. Isn’t closing in 2 weeks? The communication on this from leadership is completely lacking.
LTIP
Will Dvn keep this. Ctra didn’t want to give it to most employees
Permian = Midland, Other Basins = OKC
Someone said recently that anyone working Permian assets will have to move to Midland and all of the other Basins will be run out of OKC. Is this true?
