Read an article this morning that the layoffs this week were already planned in the original November announcement....I find that hard to believe since there were numerous other articles that said there were going to be no other layoffs. What is... — read more
Laidoff, with ongoing critical project nobody taking over
Whole team gone. This is so ridiculous. Project owned by another VP. I wonder if any VP cares the whole business any more than his own butt.
Layoff? Perhaps only in US because not even on any news media
Recent layoffs are considered to be very small only in US. There is no news media that is covering it.
Worldwide layoff
This is the first time layoffs are in sync world-wide. in the US, you can fire people any time. That is more difficult int the civilized world and so the layoffs always started there a few months later. What has changed?
Laid off! Treated like dirt!!
I can't believe how the Cisco culture treats people like dirt once they are laid off. I'm very hurt! I realized it before, but now I see it first hand.
Room for negotiation?
Has anyone successfully negotiated any aspects of a separation package with Cisco before?
Thoughts on Cisco CEO sending promotion emails during layoffs
Chuck is sending out promotion emails and congratulations CP right after the lay off day. No empathy for the employees who got impacted by layoff. He could at least wait for a couple days
Mobility gutted
Looks like a slow wind down. All good engineers gone.
The blame game
Is anybody else utterly tired of being forced into another round of the blame game when something goes wrong instead of everybody working together to solve the issue? It’s all about who to pin the blame on and how to protect your own behind instead... — read more

Is layoff/LR money a lump sum, or do they cut you off when you find a new job?
Can I just take the 4 month option if I have a new job lined off, and take a 4 month "bonus", or is there some reporting in place where they stop paying severance when I get a new job?

All principal, distinguished engineers , pls quit Cisco for frequent LRs
I am principal engineer and my boss calls me backbone of Cisco but recent LRs were not fruitful. Cisco laid few of the finest people and couldn’t do anything. I have lost morale and decided to quit Cisco in support of my friends who got affected. — read more
Leadership Failures
The influx of new leaders brought in to drive transformation to a SW company have failed miserably. Think about the blunders of the past few years, especially the lack of a transformation plan. No clue how to safely move from old to new. Just a... — read more
Why is Cisco letting go genuine talent...

Several engineers are impacted in TAC
Was Maria hired to systematically destroy TAC, one of Cisco’s strongest functions? Because Maria has systematically destroyed TAC and made it little better than a chat bot.
LR'd Six Years Ago: Rejoice Every Day
Ah, another Layoff. If you are affected; just accept it and move on. You were smart enough to get hired here. You will be hired somewhere else. Dependent on how invested with time and lifestyle with working at Cisco; it may be a big emotionally... — read more
Cisco Plans No Further Job Cuts: CEO Robbins Says
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/videos/2023-01-18/cisco-plans-no-further-job-cuts-ceo-robbins-says-video
What are everyone's plans post-lay off?
I know some people prefer taking a long, well-deserved break, while others might be jumping right back into the job hunt process. Is there a route that people recommend more, through personal experience or otherwise?

It's my first time getting laid off, and I'm trying to get to my bearings with everything... vested stocks, separation pay, etc. Any guidance and recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
No impact in Cisco IT?

Any managers and above impacted by LR
or was that just BS? Cisco has so many managers with few reports or none. So many useless directors and above as well. Top heavy to the extreme and they aren't the ones getting work done.
So about ghosting
So about ghosting those you used to work with after the last several LRs... Don't expect any help from them. Karma.
Hiring Fresh Grads and cheaper labor from Bangalore on L1 to replace 10year veteran
We just hired 2 fresh grads and got an internal transfer from India - All this year. And they let go of a technical leader who was mentoring them. This is how Cisco works!
I'm joining the club here. My job was eliminated.
Extremely generous package...including RSU acceleration. I'm not even mad about it. I hated every minute at this place. I actually feel relieved.
Got Terminated Not Even a Layoff
So yeah, I got terminated.
Laid off from an emotion less mgmt
I also got impacted. The director had no emotions at all. Ba----d called me and just handed over me the package and not even a word of thanks for working for 10+ years
Laid off Today.
Hey, I got Laid off today, after 10 years of working for the company. I have a question, what is RSU acceleration? how does that work? Thanks for anything you can share on this.

GSSO - No Expense Money
We have been told there is no budget for customer meetings for the remainder of the FY. When we need expense the most to try to close what is remaining, we are being told there is no expensing allowed. Anyone have any insight into this.
