What is the deal with Cisco hiring practices?

Perhaps it's just me or maybe just the ones I'm dealing with. But not one recruiter I've ever dealt with at Cisco nor hiring managers shows any dececency at all during the process. Why ghost when you can spend about 5 seconds sending even a form... — read more

Transformation team

Well that was a dud. So all they’re doing is making use cases so we can sell “solutions” to them, which are really just our existing products, sold the way they’ve always been sold.

Vicious cycle of destruction

What I've observed: Cisco tends to lay off the older, highly skilled and motivated support staff, sales, engineers and internal staff. Obviously this eventually affects customers. Many of those laid off land at corps that use Cisco products... — read more

Worrying Net Promoter Score results

The latest NPS scores have been published for Q3, not really any positive figures apart from one or two regions. Worryingly US Commercial, GES, Americas SP (probably AMER’s strongest areas for historical revenue?), UK&I and Germany(probably EMEA’s... — read more

Why was Nexus Cloud cancelled as a product?

Why did they cancel nexus cloud as a product? This was supposed to be our new saas controller for data center networking. Now we have nothing. Everybody was very excited about this now we are all looking at arista.

Customer losses

I'm starting to see more deals lost to competition than ever before - more than I have ever seen. Seems like some kind of negative inflection point for Cisco.

This seems like a holdover from the old days of just selling routers and switches. Specialist engineers got added for each AT, eventually even EN itself. So what is the purpose of portfolio engineers?

Bad manager, so I left.

I didn't like Cisco. My manager (1st time being a manager), was always late to our 1:1's. So I started to track it. On average, he was 7 minutes late over the year. He was also very good at screaming on the phone.

Is Transformation org going to make a difference?

A lot of people are stuck here

All I know is that under no circumstances would I want to be one of those long-term employees who are stuck here. Why are there so many of them? I guess the reason is that they believed in improvements here.
