Raises

Never worked for a company that didn't give raises every year. Weird.

Bonus

It's almost the end of the fiscal. Anyone hear anything positive about bonuses?

Get your ducks in a row

You have an "employment at will" agreement with Cisco, assuming you are in the US. It is NOT illegal for you to update your resume and social network profile, start reaching out to friends and family regarding opportunities. It WOULD be ideal for you... — read more

Chances of LR in August?

Since we already had one recently the chances look slim. But then it depends on Q4 outlook as well. What are you hearing within your teams?

2nd level mgr got LR'ed today

Our BU mgr here in SJ got the boot today, he was a 2nd line mgr with 17yrs at CSCO. Oh boy, things don't look good. I will quit tech for good if I get LR'ed this time. I would rather be a chicken farmer or a grease monkey than having to go through... — read more

Facing LR

My team know that we will be targeted soon and I keep hearing 2 things around me : "Update my resume now ?" "No it is way too early until I know the next LR financial details" "Sending application to have a backup job and be confident about the... — read more

How Age+Tenure calculated for LR

Does Cisco HR count the period of continuous employment only + Age or if you are LRd and rehired then your count starts again from the day of rejoining to calculate Age+Tenure criteria for let go?

Arista's products are banned from entering the US

Does that mean there wont be layoffs this year? If Arista can't sell in the USA, Cisco will be making a tones of dough selling switches. Logic makes sense? https://finance.yahoo.com/news/cisco-scored-victory-over-major-004653739.html

Engineer Grade 9 vs Grade 10

I was wondering what is a Grade 9 minimum to maximum range and how long does it take for someone to bump up a grade? Location in SJC. The numbers I've seen are not really solid. I guess no one knows...

The frequency of layoffs at Cisco is ridiculous

Sure there are Layoffs, and to a certain degree, yes, that's business. BUT the frequency and - having just been throuh the experience again in my site - MANNER in which they are carried out are in my opinion not just business. The frequency smells of... — read more

Revenue outlook down

Cisco's recently published three to five year growth targets failed to impress on all levels. Revenue is expected to drop around 5 percent on annual basis by the end of fiscal 2017, mostly due to competition kicking our behind lately. With revenue... — read more

Jerusalem NDS office

Is the Jerusalem NDS office closing? I heard the sad news about the former black hat team and Haifa office. Regardless, my condolences to my many friends in Israel if you are dismissed by Cisco. It was apparent to me from their $5Billion US purchase... — read more

@O5SlHSp-bmw Your Treatment Shouldn't be News Worthy

I am glad things are good for you. They were for me for many years until the 1:1 meeting popped up. See how you feel about all of this when you are 50+ and get walked out the door. Look around and see how many 50+ people are in IC positions.

Package for SPVSS FR office closure

After years of extremely poor HR & BU management destroying xNDS legacy, finally our SPVSS FR office will be closed this year ! Thanks ! Now we want big time money from your pocket Cisco !!! Give to your puppet YL every €€€ we ask for :) => not only... — read more

VSS UK Layoff

Big Day Imminent? From messages circulating it appears so and numbers look significant

This is not going forward

Cisco culture has evolved into middle school or high school style popularity contest. The team of mental giants which decided that a company could be ran without formal performance reviews should be awarded a medal for being able to actually enable... — read more

Chopping Block

Anyone had a discussion with their manager about the chopping block (sometimes called the 9-block)? Had one here in the UK recently and was given a bit vague along the lines of needing to move to the top left. Does anyone know how these things are... — read more

Lawrenceville

Anyone hear what the final casualty count from March was for SPVSS in Lawrenceville ? I'm hearing 150 or more. Is that accurate ?

The real issue

I read a lot of posts here blaming Flip or NDS or choose your failed acquisition for the woes of Cisco. I also read posts about outsourcing as another root cause. All of these are a sideshow. The real issue that has driven the decline of Cisco in its... — read more
