What IF

What if mpls core team members stayed and not CR as CEO..I think we would be doing so much better than under CR

Chuck out, welcome to our new CEO Gary!

Quite a few internal and external sources have confirmed that Chuckie is out on Wednesday, falling on the sword. We might get lucky and have Fran go along, however only Chuck is confirmed at this point. After Gary gets a feel for the business and... — read more

At this point, just lay me off.

I can't pretend that I care anymore. The cycle is "do an LR, refocus the team's goals, meet or exceed those goals, get hit with another LR, try to figure out how to do more with less, refocus the team's goals, meet or exceed those goals, get hit... — read more

Splunk & AppD

Just wondering if anyone has heard how Splunk or AppD folks might be impacted with the upcoming RIF......there is a ton of overlap between the organizations and no one knows how the two orgs are supposed to fit together. I've seen talk of Meraki... — read more

Meraki

Does anyone have any insight as to how Meraki will be impacted? I know they were hit pretty hard in the last round.

AI

Why are we focusing on AI when everybody and their mother are realizing that AI is not as easy to monetize as originally thought? We'll lose so many great people for something that might not pan out in the end.

It's simple

The longer you've been here, the bigger the chance you'll be kicked out. They'll mix in some newer employees to protect themselves legally, but we all know who the main focus will be.

Thinking of everyone at Cisco this week

I survived 18 years of annual layoffs at Cisco, but finally got hit in February. I just wanted to let all of the amazing people at Cisco know that you are not alone, and whatever happens, you'll get through it. This too shall pass. Hang in there!

Supply Chain - such false excuses

Sure during Covid we had supply chain problems. Everyone did. Then Cisco said earnings were down because customers had a glut of inventory and implementation was slowed. Now back to supply chain. No - its fiscal policy creating the supply... — read more

Has this been confirmed?

SBG will get hit big again this time. More cuts directed at Directors & Sr Managers levels. Another reorg across SBG. Any truth to this?

System Indicators You Are Impacted

To anyone that’s been LRed - did you notice anything in Workday, software on laptop, payroll, etc prior to receiving the LR notification?

Saving Cisco

How did Cisco lose its way? I'll be here 16 years this week and reflecting back I hardly recognize this once great great and proud company. I care deeply about Cisco but wonder how we got to this current state of dysfunction. I am beyond devastated... — read more

Who's on the chopping block?

In February 4250 quality employees lost their roles. Splunk employees remained because as a condition of the purchase they're not allowed to be laid off for three years. Cisco Capital (leasing division of Cisco) was hit hard and heavy in February so... — read more

ELT acknowledge leak

Not going change what's happening but interesting the ELT hadn't sent a company wide communication out about the leak

Cisco is bloated

This is not to say that constant layoffs are the solution. But better, leaner, more competent mgmt is. If the company was better managed and organized, we would not have to continuously suffer from all side effects of cutting jobs: anxiety, tension... — read more

Effected teams

Which teams will be affected in this layoff? Any idea?

Considering Return Offer

Left Cisco on my own many years ago to do more interesting things. Cisco is now working to enter one of the technology areas I've become an expert in and has extended an offer for me to help drive the charge. The layoff announcement brings back... — read more

Ghosting LR folks

Hope all those that ghosted close coworkers and friends affected by previous LRs get theirs in this next round. Don't expect any help from those who are now in great positions and hiring.

Over employed?

Over employment is a dirty secret among Cisco employees. Managers are asleep at the wheel playing Game of Thrones and don’t recognize it’s happening. Buy a mouse jiggler and work two remote jobs. Helps take back the power and drives financial... — read more

Big LR in US TAC teams (Wireless, RP, Sec, DC, & COL)

As Cisco gradually moves TAC to Mexico, several TAC engineers in RCDN (West shift) and RTP (EAST shift) will be affected. Plan accordingly (probably too late)! FYI: Your managers have no "detailed info" on who is affected and who is not... we do NOT... — read more
