Why would anyone accept a job at Cisco?

How does Cisco attract talent? They lured me away from a top company with RSUs then laid me off before they vested. Worst mistake of my life. By the time I was laid off, it was a celebration.

After 30+ lifetime LRs

I personally have seen double digits company wide redundancy programs due to M&A or bad quarterly results in my career. It’s never easy to be always be in the position of being scared for your livelihood or where the next pay check will come if one... — read more

Written announcement is a joke

"always a last resort" from the same pigfu-ker who does the exact same thing every fiscal year. 25% mid-year bonus. Why even bother at that point? Just make it 0% and own the fact you're insulting anyone who can't escape and has to stick around to... — read more

Unionize NOW

No matter how hard you work, some nepo-baby loser with an MBA that thinks they know better will cut your career short at Cisco (or anywhere). Now is the time to organize carefully, quietly, and in large numbers. We can make a better Cisco

Last one out the door turn off the lights.

Splunk will likely hasten, not slow down, Cisco’s demise. Poor capital allocation on part of the CEO and CFO from Autodesk with no networking experience.

Unionise!

The tech world is not anymore immune to layoffs and work conditions and pay is worsening every year relative to the standard of living. Cisco just like any other company has only their shareholders in mind, increasing their dividends while firing... — read more

This is absolutely nerve-wracking

Is anybody able to focus on their work? I admit I'm not. My productivity is shot and it will stay that way until this is completely wrapped up. There's not much I can do to change that.

who decides and criterias??

Does anyone know who decides who has to go and on the basis of what criteria? My manager was presented with a fait accompli and had no influence on the choice. Apparently, the local organizations are not integrated into the decision-making process.

It’s madness to stay in Cisco

Your friends colleagues getting fired for silly mistakes and nothing to do with performance. Cisco did layoffs when it was doing good It’s total madness to stay in this TOXIC workplace

All organisation is impacted

My all global organization was impacted. The one that was taking care of employees' well-being. I was laid off a second time in 6 months( was rehired to a new position previously). It's time to move and don't come back.

Here's my separation package

My last day of employment is 2 months from today on April 15. Then 4 months of pay (80% of total comp). I"'m in sales so commission plays a factor in my total comp. Plus 4 months of Cobra. So in total, it's a 6-month package.

Best option for Cisco is sell itself to broadcom

No one cares about Cisco business models. It's same cr@p everywhere, same products everyone else have except 3 times more expensive. Cisco not able to innovate anything, no one would be interested in buying into Cisco except probably broadcom.
