I think you are how you treat your employees. Is there job security for those who remained loyal through good and bad times, or at least cross-skilling or upskilling for those whose positions were eliminated? NO. Do long-term members feel like USAA is a loyal company? NO
So go ahead—bring your dog, your trusty binder, and recite every corporate platitude in the book. It won’t be inspiring; most employees will just wonder if the dog is in charge now (honestly, it might be an improvement). As for the binder, unless it’s full of jokes, nobody’s laughing.
