Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Can’t you just go back to your previous team?

I have been moved around to multiple teams since COVID (same job title and same pay, though). It appears our team will probably be laid off by this next Tuesday after payday as the work we did is being handled by original team that should have been working the cases anyway., but my question is, has anyone had success convincing HR to let you go back to your previous team vs. being displaced? I mean, it’s not my fault I am on the team that I am on. I was just flexible and adaptable but I would really like to go back to one of my previous teams rather than being laid off.

@114 it's hard too. I really invested alot of personal emotion if you will into these people if that makes any sense. Hard walking away and even more hurtful is the indifference I experienced just like that.
Totally uncharacteristic of how I knew them. It's almost if someone told them not to communicate with me.
Something happened and im not quite sure what it is.
Somethings wrong when you go from being a contact on social media>deleted>act okay in person>try to establish contact sometime later>denied>still act okay>laid off good terms>ignore all communication> restrict block.
Guess I'll go no contact until I hear something that's the deal anyway. I heard it works so.

So yeah not sure i haven't done anything other than not be able to rto because of location strategy. Guess they're still sore because of that. That was over a year ago...

@zv @zv If they got you with location strategy, they probably got others for different reasons. Wells has moved on from location strategy as a reason for layoffs to other reasons. People are not happy here. There is no job security for most employees. A lot of people are either looking to get out or are waiting for their turn to be laid off.

I think you need to move on. There is no reason to be contacting these people. Your previous co-workers can't do anything for you. They can't help you get your job back and they can't help you get a new job since they are probably looking for a new job themselves.

Wish I could go back. I work somewhere else now but I really do miss who I used to work with.
I was displaced because of location strategy. I had a clean record, great attendance and reviews. Worked there for 24 years.
I tried reaching out several times but now nobody at will even respond whether be a text, email etc. Some have went as far as blocking me.

That's the puzzling part ....about the whole thing. People know your situation and you make it known you won't be able to make that transition and everyone is in full understanding.
Everyone seems okay until one day they're not... ??
In my mind I really think they or whoever are truly upset with me about not going with the team (it was financially out of my control).
It was never about liking someone or not. (I feel that's why I'm not getting a response).
He-l. I don't know, maybe they started feeling a different way toward me and that's why. Who knows. Im waiting on them to contact me back at this point. He-l would have to freeze over probably but anything is also possible.

It must be true what you hear though you lose contact and people drop off the face of the earth you've known for years. People wanna be difficult.

Others and I in my department were moved around to other teams. We were all brought back to our original team just before the new teams were laid off. So, you might get brought back.

The purpose of the decision is to get rid of YOU OP. Eliminating the role or site is just an excuse to accomplish that objective. Shart wants every single employee that worked at WF prior to him gone. It's just the reality of the situation. It's a matter of time for all of us.

That would mean that other team would need to expand. You could see if they are opening a req soon. Otherwise, doesn't look good.
