Did anyone else notice that Todd Gibbons is having a town hall meeting on March 3 while the layoffs are underway? That's real class (without the "cl"). Or is that a plan to dismiss anyone showing up in person? Seriously, how does this make any sense with layoffs confirmed for next week? They can't do them all in on Monday. Notice that the conf call number won't be available until March 2.
Enough with your stupid talks. give us our package and send us on our way to the next adventure in life. We all know BNY is done within most US locations. Especially for smaller locations.

Whether coming layoffs are founded or not, this site is a total rumor-mill and I think you all know that. My advice, which I know is unsolicited, is to look to greener pastures if you are unhappy working at BNYM or feeling uneasy about the direction of the Company. Take control of your own career and make something happen. Don't just wallow in fear of a layoff or hope for some sort of windfall from being laid off.
Today’s tech meeting, boss said to mention people by name when they do something great. We thought, sure so you can lay them off. Or better yet, make everyone else resent them. That’s BNY’s culture: the more discord, the better.
Boss also said that SMEs are complaining that they are not valued. And we thought, yeah sure there aren’t many SMEs left and those are probably just trying to get on the lay off list.
Sorry Boss, if you were trying to be encouraging. We all work for BNY and even you must know how hollow your words seem to us by now.

I'm a manager on 14 and I'm hoping I'm on the list ... I can see the handwriting lately since I've been marginalized lately and doing mostly busy admin work.
No big deal anymore! Let them lay-off everyday, no one cares anymore.
Are all departments impacted? Just asking.
If you are one of the desperate ones, then it make sense to continue here... most of the smart ones are already having solid life .

This is true. One of BNY's esteemed (sarcastic voice) upper management robots mentioned that there will be a lay-off, in their department, coming in March. That said, I can't imagine it being just that department. Doesn't make sense to lay-off only a few employees here and there. It's usually done in bulk.
So no fake news here, just the facts of what's going to happen.

Our location announced to us today that a restructure in MGMT will take place next week. Won't surprise us to have layoffs to follow such changes.
