10 RSUs not cashable until 2026? Not sure that'll be enough to make me act like a CEO.
With 10,000 shares , I would maybe start thinking about it.

Well for you and me, yes…but based on the Bank’s assets we are not doing very well at all.
But don’t believe me, believe the investors. Our stock is falling because we aren’t doing as well as we should well so investors are selling and we are underperforming. The market doesn’t lie. Of course if you’re just loving your RSUs then disregard the market.
@sbnw, I guess your idea of "rough" and everyone else's is quite different. We made 6 billion dollars the last two years PLUS had huge increases in our reserves.
Nope it’s not. It has nothing whatsoever to do with the bonus levels. They’re based upon a bonus pool which has been cut after a rough two years.
Some friendly advice… never assume that you’ll get a bonus unless you have it in an employment contract with the Bank.
Total elimination of bonus and raises for a year or two within a division is actually a common occurrence. About a third of the years that I’ve worked here it has happened. If Senior Mgt sc--w up we take the hit.
It’s amazing to read that people still do not understand that the stock was not taken from their bonus. It wasn’t, and the bonus is not a guarantee. A bonus is just that… a bonus, not a guarantee. Now if you’re talking an enforced payroll salary decrease then that’s a completely different situation.
The most materialist generation in American history wants to decline free stock because it’s simply too much work to hold it for a few years. I just love this place… the comedic value is incredible.
There is no reason to decline the shares and the downside to this Gen Z employee is that it is not cash coming directly to his bank and there is a duty to learn a bit, track a basis and learn how do his own taxes.
It’s actually quite frightening to see the deterioration of the U.S. educational system.
First stock? Excellent… hopefully you’ll keep watching Robin’s gift and learn. Free shares are an excellent no risk way to learn about investing.
All stocks generally move together with market moves. Alpha stocks such as Banks generally move more mildly while riding the wave. Beta stocks are riskier and tend to move with more volatility both up and down.
You should set up a free portfolio on Yahoo with 10 to 20 stocks and indexes and check them at the end of the day. Or you can do it on an iPhone in the “stocks” App. You’ll get a feel for it and maybe even get interested and learn.
Don’t be stupid with this beautiful gift which Robin has given us to learn.
@3seh, ummm, we just saw it go from the low 60's to high 30's for no reason.
But one of the biggest reasons is how rapidly the financial landscape can change. Kids don't use banks anymore. They barely even use debit or credit cards. Just like they have no concept of television or radio "stations". And distributive ledgers can throw a bigger monkey wrench into our profits.
@3k
What’s your theory on why a long time flatliner stock would suddenly drop by 50%?
Let me get my popcorn…
Of you do not want the shares you need to decline the shares. Of you do nothing they will automatically be granted by like the second week of March
If they only granted shares and shut up but the whole communication about acting like a CEO or being a shareholder is laughable. Come on guys we're talking 500 bucks which after tax will probably worth half their price.
Can’t wait to sell my shares to buy a yacht
10 / 166,000 = .0000006% CEO
Symbolic of what, bad leadership?
Nobody is pretending to give a car to employees. Don’t be ridiculous.
I don't want "compensation" that amounts to basically nothing and (worse) can be used as a talking point for Senior Management to pretend they car about employees. It's a garbage gesture from garbage leadership - I guess I'll give them credit for their consistency.
it's a goodwill gesture, more symbolic
@2fje+1ljgefce its not "free" when its taken out of your cash bonus.
And why don’t you want free compensation?
i keep getting email to 'accept your award'
what happens if i dont click
they going to tell my manager / director / EC ?
You are all forgetting about the cake!!!!!!
& again. They offset this “perk” by reducing bonus by that much (or more) & eliminated real time 401(k) match
The stock "award" is silly and embarrassing. Better to give nothing at all, seriously.
Act like a CEO and lay yourself off!
@1svr It was Berkshire Hathaway I suppose. I had a offline discussion with my manager what was the reason behind distribution of shares to entire workforce. She hinted Warren sold shares in bulk which was the reason behind giving it to Employees. Mr.Buffet's company Berkshire Hathaway owns 3.6 % stake in BONYM.
There was a $25 gift card....goofball. They may have got the year wrong, but it was another pathetic gesture by a clueless leadership team.
What’s the reason/downside to decline the shares ?
There was a $25 Amazon gift card.
I do not remember but I believe it was 2020 but very well could have been 2021.
I disagree. It DOES make me feel like a CEO…you know: ripping off the peons.
There was never ever a $25 Amazon gift card in 2021 or at all. People are goofballs.
Maybe you had WOW points?
This is like the $25 Amazon gift card in 2021. 10 RSUs? That will be worth a loaf of bread in 3 years. Laughable.
I can't find any info on how to decline them
