it's easy to say "just put in 40 hours and not a minute more". In reality, when you can't find a new job and don't have a lot of savings, it's not easy to take a stand like that. I don't know what your boss is like, but mine certainly wouldn't like it and would find a way to get rid of anyone who leaves the work unfinished.

@2mvc+1gzLagF7 If that is all you got out of that post, then you are a fool.
@2mvc+1gzLagF7, are you a keyboard warrior? I know BNY pays on 15th and the last day of the month. But I still need to spend money every week. I save 40% and I spend money on things that I like.
Look for a new job! I did after many years at the bank. Drank the kool aid and thought this was it but finally put myself out there and landed a great job. Grass is greener!
You get a paycheck every week?
Nothing against you, I saw and realized the Greedy and Ugly faces of the middle managers and senior managers when I was 2 years after college graduation. I save 40% of my paycheck every week, I drive a 9 years old car, I make my own coffee daily, I have not bought new clothing for 6 years. I have saved enough emergency fund to last 2 years in case of this toxic environment in any corporations. I can hand in 2 week notice when I really feel like it.
Nobody said that it would be easy. You gotta shake off the cult like environment, pick yourself up off the floor and say “no More” and act on it. It’s not easy but it’s the only way
Then update your skills so you're marketable and spend less money than you make.
Let them lay you off. Find something new. Life is too short to keep feeding these bloodsuckers
