Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Why are vaccinated people being punished and forced back into the office?

Not to mention the fact that they should’ve implemented a real plan for hybrid/wfh. But now all the vaccinated people are all forced back in. Europe is surging right now, we are always behind them in rates, have we not learned this by now? It’s only a matter of time before people are testing positive for Covid in the office.

RTO sucks after almost 2 years of working from home. I do appreciate the lighter than usual traffic and prime parking spots. Trying to make lemonade

@4vfl+1dL8Xgra What city? Were these associates that updated their status by Nov 1st or were they a part of an earlier wave?

It likely depends on location and the date of vaccination.

@4mkm+1dL8Xgra They are sending RTO dates to Associates at my location.

BofA doesn't even have a coherent plan for bringing all associates back to the office as they seem obsessed with doing. In all honesty, a hybrid work schedule seems like the most feasible option and most other companies have already put those plans into place. If they had a logistical plan for bringing vaccinated and unvaccinated back in a safe way then we would have received those communications by now. So far this year, BofA has not even been compliant with the local mask ordinances in Charlotte either. Then their use of the vaccine status portal worked counterproductive to their objective and most who were RTO'd reverted back to WFH posture with nearly empty offices still today. These are just the facts based on the corporate offices in uptown Charlotte.

Those in the vaccine portal who were vaccinated more than six months ago probably won't be required to RTO until boosters are available to them as well. The majority of associates marked as vaccinated in the portal were vaccinated over six months ago, so in essence we are starting over with vaccinations. I'm not sure how the team of medical professionals that BofA is consulting with could consider someone safe to be in a full capacity office when they were last vaccinated almost a year ago. Covid cases and hospitalizations are currently on the same level they were at this time last year.

@1bsp+1dL8Xgra The RTO supporter posts are all being written by one person… It’s one guy making multiple comments supporting RTO and trolling everyone else. This same guy has been doing it on many diff threads.

Many offices remain nearly empty despite months of RTO.

@1mzf+1dL8Xgra That’s the whole point of this forum, troll. If we were here to praise the Bank we would do it on Flagscape like the other kool aid drinkers.

What’s your motivation for trolling here? You are clearly an outlier. Are you a paid corporate shill or just a loser? Let me guess, you are the same mo--n who previously claimed to be a GIS Director.

I love working from home. I save time on a commute. I save money on gas and lunch. Coffee is good. But when a condition of employment is to return to the office, I go back to the office as required if I want to continue receiving money in exchange for my knowledge work.

Doesn't mean I'm pro RTO, rather I can deal with changing circumstances and make choices that benefit me based on my personal decision framework.

People can continue to ask "Why me?", huff and puff, stomp their feet, scowl their face, and complain to anyone and everyone but that's not going to change the external forces at work that you have zero control over. Have some personal accountability and take action that benefits your life and moral compass.

My guess is the bank knows you’re mad and they are waiting for the miserable ones like you to leave on your own after your cr@ppy bonus is paid. Then they will hire a minority type who will gladly do twice the work and not complain and gladly come to the office to actually do work. America the beautiful, land of opportunity. Sorry, not sorry…. you’re not happy, but RTO is here to stay.

Be careful what you wish for. If every company went WFH, the entire economy would collapse. And only a fraction of you would be needed to actually work.

We are talking about impacting commercial real, housing real estate, all of the small businesses that people used when they commute; transportation, cars, work clothes, coffee, day care expenses , hotels, conference sets up, salons, restaurants , etc., etc., etc.

It’s not as simple as you all think. WFH would mean most of you and thousands of others in your city would be permanently unemployed. You can’t have it all. Everything would just fall apart and the bank would not be as big anymore.

If you really like working from home, perhaps think of something you can do to start your own company with your preferred place of work as your home.

In the meantime please stop with the constant disapproval as it’s not your business and no one cares what you want.

@cre+1dL8Xgra It’s already happening. People are leaving, many more will follow suit next year if no hybrid work arrangement. Then they are also struggling to recruit talent for the same reasons. Something has to give and the workers hold the leverage. I’m waiting until bonuses are paid as are most others before jumping ship.

I know, punished…. You’re such a victim….having a job in America with a good paycheck, benefits, nice, safe office to work in. I take it you’ve never traveled anywhere outside of your comfort zone. Maybe be grateful that you are alive, well and able to come to your place of work. Yes, it’s called work, not lay around the comfort of your home and collect full paycheck for doing the bare minimum. The pandemic is over. Vaccine is available for anyone who wants it. Time to grow up. You’re never gonna advance to the next level in the game of life with your current attitude.

No one is forcing you back into anything, let alone an office.

It’s called a job. You apply, get hired, told where to report to, who to report into and then you get a paycheck, sprinkled with some benefits. Demanding that you be allowed to WFH from your sofa in your pajamas is not part of the deal. If you really feel like you’re being “forced” to do something, I’d say it’s time to move on to a new job because your current condition of feeling “forced” speaks volumes to your mental health.

2022 can’t come soon enough. Hopefully everyone who resents coming back to office will be on the RIF list and the complaining will stop. Remember, no shortage of people waiting to take your if it’s that bad (which we all know it’s not that bad). The stay at home time during the pandemic really made some of you lazy and unmotivated. That’s not something that’s looked fondly of. Get your bu-t back to the office and be positive. Or continue to complain and see where that gets you….

The more you complain, the more they will reduce any WFH or Hybrid plan. They. Don’t. Want. You. Happy.

Punished ? Why don’t you just admit, you’re lazy AF and don’t want to work. Good grief, the complaining about RTO is ridiculous. It’s called a job, work, if you don’t want to work in an office setting, it’s really simple, GET ANOTHER JOB. The bank has made it crystal clear that RTO is the new normal. It is selfish to assume a WFH benefits everyone, when it does not. Much of the learning is from being in an office setting WORKING WITH YOUR COWORKERS.

Get over it already. Most people are enthusiastic about RTO. Especially future leaders.

I'm vaxxed. I was brought back in the office. I don't feel punished at all. I was MyWork for over 10 years but brought back in 2018. Pandemic hit so WFH. Vaccines administered, brought back in. There's no punishment, and you're not a victim.

It’s all perspective and attitude. You look at RTO as punishment. I look at RTO as opportunity and leadership.

All depends on how you look at things. Positive outlook breeds positive outcome.
