Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

This place is a joke, and people are sick of it

We're all tired of the way this company treats us. Nobody here cares about employees. No wonder they can't find anyone who will work here to backfill much-needed positions. Everyone knows by now how terrible BNY Mellon is and is staying as far away from it as possible. This place is a joke and nothing else.

And you prefer Robin? Todd had zero layoffs.

I miss Todd and his wise and thoughtful leadership every day. He should have been C.E.O. for life.

So clueless. You hate Robin and you vote downvote any praise of Todd. You deserve Robin and your 10 shares. Wake up.

And this is exactly why I will be putting my notice in one month from today.

Todd would hate Robin’s regime. Everyone remaining now clearly understand how wonderful Todd was over the last 2 1/2 years. Robin has destroyed any and all remaining employee loyalty.

People will be looking for better jobs elsewhere and the young talent already know to avoid the Bank.

I think that the final nail in the coffin for BNYM will turn out to be the reworked 401K match deferred for over a year, with no interest payment to employees on the year+ holding period and loss of all dollar cost averaging.

We don’t really have all that much talent left here and learning recently as we have that HR is taking a one year+ interest free loan from us, one that might never be repaid, and to add insult to injury we lose dollar cost averaging and can very easily lose the entire match based on several different scenarios.

Some of this sounds to be borderline illegal.

It’s not indentured servitude. It really is a great time to start a job search.

“One can only assume the problem is at the board level, not just executive leadership.”

The board is nothing more than a rubber stamp.

There is ONE guy who loves it here: that loser who keeps mentioning how things were wonderful under Todd. Perhaps he was under a lot because he had his knee pads in good use LOL

I thought they needed to take a different approach with the new leadership crew. If they wanted a high performing culture they needed to start paying up for that. Not just with salaries and bonus but also technology, work space, and innovative products. Instead they're still trying to nickel and dime their staff, implementing layoffs, and trying to squeeze pennies out of their custody business. No clear strategy. You can't just say you want a high performing culture and then do the same things you've always done. One can only assume the problem is at the board level, not just executive leadership.
