Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Internal Positions

Does anyone know that if your position is eliminated, if you are still allowed to apply to other positions internally?

Like what's the process? If you sign the layoff paperwork, that's it?

@dz this is 100% fact. I had a RIF at my last job. They gave me a great severance pkg. then the called me 2 days later, offered me my job back at $25 an hour. I was previously making $50 an hour. What a bunch of a--holes.

If you take the VSP or you get RIF'd; you can continue to look for open opportunities within Centene; HOWEVER ; you will be required to pay back a portion if not all your severance- the amount is dependent on how many weeks severance you got and how long you stay away.

You are allowed to apply for anything. Getting a role within the company is going to be about the same as winning a (bad) lottery. This is a downsize and reorg, the goal is to get as many people to leave quickly and cheaply as possible.

If you have time to spend applying and interviewing use those efforts on your next company.

@OP If you are RIF'd, you'll likely get paid for the next 3 weeks. 2 of those weeks, you'll continue to work, with last week officially gone, but paid. During those first 2 weeks, you can apply for internal jobs & be hired as an internal. Hiring manager will not know you are being RIF'd - unless you tell them.
