All this talk about improving culture and recognition and then after three years in a group when I transfer out my supervisor can’t even be bothered to circulate a thank you card. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out is our culture. Oh but you know the chosen ones had nice good mate lunches with management thanking them and gushing over them with a nice going away present.

I just went to lunch this week with the team for someone changing roles and leaving the group. So I think the issue is your current manger su-ks and/or just doesn’t care. It’s not every team.
Some of these comments are wild. I believe OP was making the point that there are constant surveys about culture and talk about the need to thank and recognize and then when obvious opportunities arise management does absolutely nothing. The exception being of course high potential employees. They get everything.
@OP it’s okay, I’m sure you’re cat still likes you
@OP Ask/look around and figure out what happened to people that genuinely tried to change this "culture" ....
You sound like an incessant bootlicker.
I asked if we could do something special for someone who did some amazing work on a "must win" project = even working with me through a holiday weekend to get it all done. I was told "no, that's considered base business."
You sound miserable to be around. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a card for doing my job at a company I choose to work for who pays me
Someone on my team retired after a 20+ year career and there was no lunch, no happy hour, no mention, nothing. Just awful.
