Fortunately I was surplused on 7/1 after 28 years at Att. I’ve seen this company go from, a great place to work to a Stanky hole.
Anyways, when should I expect my last paycheck or severance payment. I haven’t seen anything so far. Knowing the inefficiencies at AT&T, I’m worried that this may take multiple calls to HR one stop. Only to find out that nothing has been done.
Severance payout is no less than 30 days and no more than 45.
If you were cut, you weren’t pulling your weight. How does it feel to be 100% committed to laziness versus 60%?
@OP i would recommend contacting HR one stop, say “severance” at prompt. I was also impacted and received payments on both the 6th and 21st. Lump sum was funded as well this week. I submitted lump sum rollover request on June 18th via US mail so funding was done within 32 days.
I am sorry for your loss. I have read losing your job can feel very similar to the loss of a loved one. Be assured that this company has expert level experience in taking jobs and fulfilling their contractual obligation to end the relationship. I truly wish you the best. The heartless comments on here are probably coming from fear of the same coming for them.
@OP I had surgery and came back from Disability yesterday. My boss who might’ve never met, called me halfway through the day asking how I felt, etc. Then told me I will be affected with the latest Surplus. I have 42 years of service. I am literally beside myself devastated. 42 years of my life and just like that. I am not old enough to collect Social Security yet. I started this job in high school this company. I just have no words.
@a3 You will be fine. Collect your severance, unemployment, and pension and utilize LHH to find something that you really enjoy. It will take awhile to unwind from 28 years. Congratulations on your 28 years and enjoy the journey to your next adventure.

I think you should receive your paycheck on the date you normally would if you were still working. You should receive your severance check 30-45 days after your last day on payroll.
Can you rollover your 401k into Walmart?
You need to cancel all you T services, you need to also have your family members do the same. You will save a lot of money switching. You need to roll 100% of your pension "lump sum" to your Fidelity brokerage account. You will be fine, the same thing happened to me. They will try to hose you with insurance, trust me its not worth the price. Work on a plan.
I don’t want this to sound mean, but the fact that you’re so lost and helpless speaks volumes.
@a9 I’ve read the documents and understand them quite well. There will be no payment until I call them to resolve the is. They will steal from their own employees and customers. If you don’t this then frkk off.
