I anticipate someday there being a Frontline documentary how the bo-m of new generational AI harmed the American economy. Who knows, the documentary might even say how it ruined the world economy (i.e., every nation’s individual economy).
This whole venture, at least the way and speed they are going about it, will come back on all these CEOs and corporations as the biggest flop and mistake in the last 50 years.

@a9 Spare us the corporate talking points, we just had to sit through 90 minutes of that. AI in its current state is an unsustainable scam and a market bubble. Companies who went all in are now feeling the financial pain as costs kick in, and are having to rehire where they massively laid off workers. Yes, "every company" has to show aggressive interest in AI or be considered passe. But the CEOs who obsess about offshoring and workforce reductions, which we have already seen this year here, are doing irreparable damage. Not to mention the devastation to our environment and power grids and economy from data center construction insanity.
As for the town hall, uninspiring rehash of the same bullets we've heard all year. And while the flat healthcare premiums are certainly nice, he straight up admitted more reductions are coming. No surprise as this has been the MO.
@a4 I'm with you - it feels frustrating. However, we need to come to terms with the fact that AI is the new reality. Every company is in the process of adopting it, and those who don't will perish. The leadership is simply thinking about the best interest of the company in this new evolving time, and yes it does have tradeoffs. I think the best approach for us is to think about how to adapt and thrive in this new world. Finger pointing, blaming, or finding a group of people to hate is a natural instinctive reaction, but we're better, and we need to rise up beyond it.
@a3 They don’t want to hear what we got to say because they don’t care. They main focus is company growth using AI, and replacing onshore with offshore because it cheaper and with doing that, they can afford the expense to grow the company with AI.
