As of October 1st, all telecommuters who have company paid home internet, or company reimbursed home internet, will be losing that benefit... because why not, right?

For a company that made 6 BILLION in protect this is disappointing. They have never paid for mine not sure how I got the cr-p end of the stick but whatever. This company does not give a cr-p about any of us and we should do only the bare minimum for what we are paid for.
@at Since you had the option to just just have the one line with Optum paying a portion of the bill, why did you not want that? Was it just the hassle of submitting the reimbursement?
CA state law supersedes their policy.
I would think they would still be required to reimburse for internet in California.
@ad 100%, Optum paid for internet longer than most companies. Not saying it is right or wrong, but just facts.
Can't do that in some cities or counties . Check your local laws

@at They just pay a portion of the one internet line in my division based on how many hours you work per week.
I have never been reimbursed because I didn’t want a separate connection run into my house. I need internet anyway, so not a big deal.
We have gone from Optum paying for internet directly, to prorated internet, to no internet reimbursement. While it is a loss of a benefit, it is in alignment with most companies. Just like how companies don't pay for pagers or cell phones.
@a8 did you try applying for reimbursement?
Nobody in my department gets Internet reimbursement as far as I am aware. We are engineering/architecture in UHC Tech. Is this dependent on the division/role?

@a4 I’m a GL 27 and my team lost our internet coverage at least 4 years ago already.
@a1 are you saying this change only impacts people in GL 28 through 31?
Unless of course you live in a state where it’s mandatory they pay a portion,,,,
