Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Update to U.S. home internet policy

As of October 1st, all telecommuters who have company paid home internet, or company reimbursed home internet, will be losing that benefit... because why not, right?

"We recognize this change may have an impact on some employees. To help you prepare, we are providing more than 90 days' notice before the policy takes effect."

For a company that made 6 BILLION in protect this is disappointing. They have never paid for mine not sure how I got the cr-p end of the stick but whatever. This company does not give a cr-p about any of us and we should do only the bare minimum for what we are paid for.

@at Since you had the option to just just have the one line with Optum paying a portion of the bill, why did you not want that? Was it just the hassle of submitting the reimbursement?

@ad 100%, Optum paid for internet longer than most companies. Not saying it is right or wrong, but just facts.

I have never been reimbursed because I didn’t want a separate connection run into my house. I need internet anyway, so not a big deal.

Nobody in my department gets Internet reimbursement as far as I am aware. We are engineering/architecture in UHC Tech. Is this dependent on the division/role?
