Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

What’s the process?

I was terminated and waiting for the documents. What I’m reading here is confusing. Bnym will provide the severance package which I would need to sign. Then I would get the severance pay or is it sub pay? Because it’s two different things. Severance pay would be the total amount of pay while sub pay covers the difference after UE max

THERE IS NO SEVERANCE for regular employees. Key Senior management who have signed employment contracts do contractually have Severance.

Give it two days and someone here will ask about Severance. We don’t hire the sharpest folks here.

If you Google SUB payments, you’ll see many references to the SUB payment covering the difference of the unemployment amount and your actual wage. For instance, if you were making $1000 and unemployment was $600, the SUB amount would be $400 , getting you to the $1000 your were making. That is NOT the case with BNY. Using the same amount as above, the SUB amount from BNY would be $1000 and on top of that, you will get $600 from unemployment. Attend the HR sessions. They will confirm this.

Why would knowing that BNY offers sub pay have direct correlation to job responsibilities? Someone is up RV a-s

Your manager should have confirmed your home email during your discussion. This is the email for questions.

Check your spam / junk email

How many people need to be let go and for how many years before BNY employees learn that you get sub pay and not severance? If you don't know this by now how good could you have been at your job?

I've had zero communication since lay off day. No emails, no mail. Should I do anything or wait for mail?
My old manager gave me a phone number to call on Teams but by the time I was going to write it down I already lost access to connect back to Teams.
I don't really want to send him a message or call him.

If you are still waiting for the email there must be something wrong, check with your manager (hopefully you have some way to contact the manager still) and ask what is the personal email they gave to HR to email you at.

Check your junk folder too.

If you really can’t reach your manager try this number I found
Separation phone number is option 3 after dialing 1-800-947-4748
