Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

I have seen more "for cause" terminations in the last 10 days than my prior 10 years as a manager

While my team has a few layoffs pending, I was actually surprised there were not more.

This week I was told of multiple terminations in my building involving either chat or internal e-mail use regarding intention to violate company policy (from what I have been told it was mostly employees BS'ing and small talking about ways to beat RTO day counts).

Anyway they are definitely monitoring everything now and using it to justify firing people without any sort of severance. Not sure of the ethics but be careful what you type using BNY assets.

They should spend more time focusing on fixing the bank!

@ax+1jjszxdec - ok and you’re mad about that but we’re paying bad performing employees to sit around half the day and do nothing. So why mad about one and not the other

As long as they dont swear or send inappropriate pics, then its not “violating “ policy so this is just an excuse if thats what you are being told

Post ID: @ah+1jjszxdec Management are using travel budget to pay for personal vacations. They have advocated for and admitted behind closed doors that they are scheduling visits to clients or to offices in NY, Boston, Florida, and extending their stay far beyond what is necessary so they have their hotel and flights covered. Family joins them on these trips. There is really no reason to visit colleagues for a week when you have technology that could reduce the expense to nothing.

Signs of a dysfunctional company including worrying more about what some people say rather than what people do

OK big mouth, put it where it counts… start using the chat sessions, outlooks, teams to badmouth people or complain to your bosom buddies on anything. Do it during the next asset servicing Town hall next week… triple dog dare ya… and as for fear, stick a cork in your hole… mgmt. here has cornered the market on instilling fear into people.

There is no ethics. They are using every way come Sunday to get rid of you. And using any of their own devices, messaging, apps etc gives them the power they need. You ARE being watched. And… anyone using BNY apps and network access on your private devices, if you have to register the device to get
Access, then you are being scanned despite what they say.

@OP

This is BS . You cannot provide any evidence to that effect and can say anything that you can imagine and post it. I am not a fan of BNY management but what is you say is absolute cr-p and instilling a fear among BNY employees.

You ARE the problem -

They should look into people breaking expense policies. Client related expenses are going through for payment reimbursements under false information, incorrect attendee names, and incorrect number of attendees, expense type, expense descriptions. Alot of their top salespeople should have been fired a long time ago for breaking important expense policy rules by now. I dont know why this isnt making any noise and not being investigated. BNY likes to cherry-pick which policy to enforce due to convenience.
