With this most recent layoff, I heard that it hit the employees in the various labs and made a change to our plans for Test Lab networks in Redmond, San Ramon, and Middletown. Are they moving up the date for the transition to Dallas? AVP and Directors were affected.

Labs in Middletown,NJ were just completely rebuilt with all new HVAC and infrastructure. Floors full of labs personnel. It’s not going anywhere
there are no real Labs in T anymore, all the locations called labs, are just a holdover from a bygone era. I expect the Northeast locations to be shuttered in a few years.
Any new labs should they be re-formed will be in the South or satellite offices in Cali
@ay MT is a goner for sure in 2 years.
@b1 pretty funny watching the left squawk while losing severely
What about the money pit down in Austin? Its got to be valuable to the datacenter developers!
Don’t confuse the test labs with the rich heritage of the real AT&T Labs. We haven’t had real innovation like that in a long time.
The only things that labs are needed for is to decipher the rats nest of back office connections and platforms that we have to maintain, until handed off turnkey to a vendor. Stanley wants to model us after Tmo and VZ, which don't invent but regurgitate vendor inventions. He already made it clear that we aren't to regard the company as family and that we essentially live in a real life survivor type of company.
We don't need labs anymore - we are offloading all of that to the vendors. No need to test setups to guarantee a high quality product once customers no longer expect a high quality product.
Because all the talent wants to move to MAGA-loving, Orange PoS land, lol. When reckoning comes MAY IT BE VICIOUS.
They seem to not be able to alert up their ind about Middletown. They want all the programmers from India who are there but they don’t want NJ in general for the 2 extra month pay rule. Also there’s still Bedminster and Paramus in NJ so what’s the final verdict on NJ? especially Middletown?
The SBC way. Never invented anything. What a corporate cluster.
Why do we even have albs anymore. It's not like we are innovating anything anymore. Close them all
T is no longer capable of innovations. It makes sense for Labs to close.
Thankfully our Israel and India Labs are inventing what’s next for us in the United States. We’re a great American company. (sarcasm)
