@bjch, there is no such thing as food stamps.
Former employee here: I'm on food stamps right now because I got laid off and couldn't get another job.
Here is a hint towards success.
Your career isn’t based upon your current employer, your career is based upon your attitude, your work ethic and your drive to better yourself. The best thing to do is to adopt a risk taking mindset. A woman who worked for me once at a different Financial Institution gave notice and I counseled her and offered my advice that it wasn’t t a good move.
To my surprise, she agreed, but explained that if it didn’t work out she would simply keep jumping until she found a great job. That’s exactly what she did. A few months later I did the same.
You can all do it as well and I hope that you consider this and follow your dreams
There are hundreds of career paths that can start with BNYM. From accounting, sales, software developer, software architect, cyber security, import/export, HR, client rep, economist, trader, FX, etc, etc.
Any headhunter that sees BNY on your resume gets a good laugh.
Not a well regarded company - competitors know that BNYM offers below market (at best) compensation so; they'll wonder why anyone would stay more than a few years.
Circus Clowns mostly begin their careers here.
For most of those wallowing in self pity, likely not much. For go getters the sky is the limit.
Sadly most here wallow in self pity and are afraid to leave.
Answer: Check out counter at McDonald's. Oh wait, those jobs are getting replaced by kiosks. Corrected Answer: A life of despair and unemployment.
I think BNY prepares you to be atleast marketable, though you might not be able to grab the best portfolio out there in the Job market, you can atleast move one step up the ladder. Like AVP to VP or a Junior manager to a Senior manager role or a analyst to a Specialist. You don't come out as a Data Scientist if you are a Data steward here, such diverse profiles need to be created in Job market and don't think BNY contributes to it. Looking at Chief Growth, Commercial and Sustainability officer profiles looks like BNY is upto something . Also, be the CEO of your Career and Growth by giving us some BK shares is a great strategy to hold you accountable.
the CEO of course !!
look at Gerald Hassell !!!
at that point you'd master the art of using your pronouns, DEI and fits in well with the overlords from WEF before you'd be considered
