Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Man, you guys might even be more dysfunctional than WF!

It seems as though the forced ranking bs is happening here too. You guys sound almost as misrable as everyone on the WF page. Sounds like executive group-think has made banking miserable in general and we may all need to think about finding a new industry.

There is nothing wrong with forced rankings other than it's very difficult to do across departments and across skill sets.
It's the forced RATINGS that are a bunch of BS. There is no reason ever single person in a department can't meet expectations. Or not meet them...

Get real, None of you lifers/whiners will make it over a year outside of BNY or WF.

Couldnt agree more - BNY is where mediocre executives with no vision and who couldnt make it in a real bank go to drain money for themselves before they retire. They only think of new ways to cut expenses, even if it hurts the business. Too big to fail, too big to do anything visionary or creative.

Amen Bro/Sis
Charlie S. And Robin V are nuclear waste. Not top managers. They talk and get paid that’s it.
All that matters is share price, earnings and cutting every expense including lopping heads. Banking no longer has great minds, investor foresight and those looking to grow business and clients. It’s now gimmicks, merging wonky software apps and cheap drive through kiosk windows with buzz words and using India to turn prayer mills into code and P-M. Our two companies and many others are bad career choices since they don’t want you having a long career.
