Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Are we a little safer at least until December?

I’m trying to find some good in this whole situation, even though I have a pretty hard time doing that. If the rumors that a big round of layoffs in scheduled for the beginning of December is in fact true, does that mean that we can feel just a little safer than usual until then, or will this period be filled with layoffs in smaller portions until that big wave hits in early December?

Historically, the last staff reduction notification of the year is on the Monday after Thanksgiving in the U.S. Can’t speak for other regions.

Bnym usually culls the herd just before Thanksgiving - I would bet on November 18th to be a big layoff day.

The BNYM Grim Reaper can and does strike at any point of time. Will be less than the quarterly hits, but he will come calling for some of us between now and December, sad to say.
