Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

False promises of new ETF client?

Mgmt telling Brooklyn office don’t worry about the major ETF client leaving, we are onboarding new client and your jobs as safe. Is it believable ?

Good Luck to Everyone Tomorrow! When you walk in look in your conference room and see if you see an HR rep and a box of tissues.

Van Eck did not renew their contract. They gave 60 or 90 day notice. They are done in November. Also, it doesn’t really matter if a new client is onboarding. The service teams are done. They stripped them of their job duties. Only job duty left is basket creation and that is in the process of being centralized. Once completed there are no job duties left for those teams. Everyone is out of Brooklyn by year end. Building mgmt gave all janitors & building staff they are done in December. So if everyone was staying for another year why would this be the case? There is no space left at 101. Why do you think whomever is left in BK hasn’t moved yet? After layoffs tomorrow Aug 19 & last wave Dec 2, whomever left is going to Jersey City. My friend on 11 got their move dates to Jersey City in November. If you haven’t received a move date, what is the reasoning?

Another big client leaving asset servicing. Bank cannot attract any big clients and are struggling to retain those we have. The 3 wise men have made a mess of things. Inexperienced, no people skills and arogant. A toxic mix that is reflected in the share price and staff sentiment.

Hi. Van Eck did not renew their contract and gave either 60 or 90 day notice months ago. I heard they are done this November. They are the largest client serviced in BK. Definitely not good. I believe once they are gone all others will be transitioned to Florida office.

I don’t really think any change. Possibly might have to staff a few more people in Syracuse & Singapore. We all shall see what happens on 8/19.

I heard for several people there is not enough space at 101. Did your group get a specific move date? I heard whomever was moving to 101 already is there. Why haven’t you moved then? Several managers have been telling everyone that they are moving next year. That’s really funny when the medical office is closed already and that all the janitors and security team were given that they will be done in December. Don’t believe management. They are only looking out for themselves. There is no room at 101. Hence, layoffs this Monday and then another wave Dec 2. I have friends that are on the 7th floor. They were told they are going to Jersey City December.

Are you sure the remaining BK people after the layoffs are going to Jersey City? I heard they were going to 101 Barclays

Even if they onboard a new client what is the plan for the Admins? They have stripped away all job duties and are just about done with centralizing the basket process & accounting. Everyone is out of BK by year end. Medical office closed, they told all janitors they are done by December. There is not enough room in the new building. This was the plan from the beginning. Layoffs Monday 8/19 next wave Dec 2. Whomever left if anyone will go to Jersey City. Best of luck. Managers only care about themselves. You should look out for yourself. Update your resume and start looking elsewhere. I wouldn’t look at JPM Custody. I heard they are moving to TX. Best of Luck
