Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

I’m just praying it’s me

I work in GIA and got BE thank goodness! If I don’t get laid off I’m going to be p-ss-d that’s all I got to say. Been praying for this forever!

It’s not good here but get it right... we are not in a recession. Look it up... learn what the word means. Food prices actually go down in a recession!

Everyone will figure it out and probably get better paying jobs dependent on your confidence and how you market yourself.

Me too. I don’t know why BNY doesn’t just ask for volunteers. That would be win/win and maybe we would have better opinion of the Company.

I got an ‘achieves’, but am hoping to be on the lay-off list.

While I get the sentiment, hope you have either a lot of money or a new job, in tech, as banks are laying off big time, profits will take a hit with lower interest rates, a recession ( and yes we are in one, anyone who food shops has seen prices go up) and who knows what will happen in the UK in two months. If your in the New York area and not a techie, there are no jobs.

It's not like the old days where you get laid off from one bank and pop up in another. Every layoff cycle decreases the number of jobs, especially in the New York area.
