Sadly nobody will do anything about this - I heard 1/3 of the bank is already located in India. Can't they just move management there as well? Seems fair to be in the location where most employees are. Oh wait, employees are not important - i forgot that.
All the best - yes those functions will go, I went through the same process some years ago. We were naive at the time: within one year the area i worked for was gone. I work now in another department but I heard they still do everything manual while in the past we were doing every year projects to enhance the process, now the process has remained unchanged and nobody really understands what they are doing. You wonder what the long term strategy is... I wish those jobs would be done where they belong: close to the client or the market. Now they are done in low cost locations, who have no clue on the client or the market and who probably don't even have the money to buy a fund.

Unless living under a rock and not being subjected to reduced wages and reduced job opportunities in recent years with American job loss to offshore labor, it's easy to derive that the OP is indicating these writers are coming to document how we handle job functions for the purpose of replacing our employee base in America with employee hires from India and the Philippines.
