Job Interview Ireland

Did the interview and was offered a job....paper work appeared 6 weeks later even though I turned it down. Luckily I did not accept as heard serious issues in that company from contacts in the industry. Accepted a job with another company. Offer was issued within 5 days of interview and salary was 30% more for a grade lower. Its no wonder people not want to work there.

Nothing much happening in the Dublin office apart from mismanagement, everything outsourced or on route, what they plan to do with the rest of staff is the question, only got rid of twenty in last cuts, should have been 200, hoping people will leave of own accord

Dublin office is a shocking place to work. I joined 4 months ago and am planning my exit already. You made correct decision and I will be following. Best wishes.

The truth is: whevener we want to hire someone this has to go up the chain again. As with everything where you do no trust people: asking for that approval takes time, it has to pass several layers and on average every layer takes a week. I've seen many people turning down an offer because BNYM took too long, I've seen BNY Mellon going back to people after 3 months with an offer (just because the internal approval took ages). Of course those people don't wait for weeks or months. If I would have known all this (and more) when I joined, I wouldn't have, everything is difficult. Layers of middle management and you first have to go through 3 layers to reach some common sense. I think you made the right decision, the environment right now is very bad: constant fear of being made redundant, nobody cares, bullying by management, outdated or no tools, All the best.

Lucky escape, the Ireland office in Dublin has the most toxic atmosphere you can imagine, the management are mere puppets for what US team decide, no say at all, can't even treat staff with dignity now

Best move you could have made. BNYM employees are not happy and moral is the lowest I’ve ever seen.
