Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Charlie's gone, accountability is still needed

I said long ago on this board that this day would come. I also shared my opinion that people are ultimately responsible for their actions and I would view certain managers and colleagues in a different way after seeing them act with a cutthroat mentality by mistreating another person for their own benefit.

Some managers happily went along with the BE false rationale of exceptional employees to save their friends that have been unable to perform the function to the level of the person displaced.

Some colleagues would harbor information and not properly train or help others to make themselves more valuable.

Those are only a couple examples.

Remember those glimpses into the "real person" - don't forget. Hold them accountable. It will get better, much better, but we need to rid the company of those remaining toxic people.

A Charlie quote from a NY Times article:

“I am committed to fully engaging with all of our stakeholders including regulators, customers, elected officials, investors, and communities,” Mr. Scharf said in a statement.

Notably and predictably absent from that statement is employees.

The new CEO has a monumental task before him. Paramount to the success of this company is the need to retain and bring back clients while simultaneously removing toxic employees both old and new from the place. There should be no stone unturned, no sacred cows, no favoritism - the branders must be removed from the company. Some of those managers did despicable actions including the silent treatment and screaming, yelling and belittling of employees in front of colleagues. They should be shown the door!! If the new CEO fails to undertake the right thing, you’ll know then they are all cut from the same cloth of greed!
