BNY Mellon employees were today disabused of any quixotic notions they may have had regarding the clubbing-by-fabricated-review policy. They will, however, be permitted to receive their fabricated review in the convenience of their homes, since remote working arrangements will remain in place (at the discretion of managers).

BNYM hasn't gotten this memo yet.

Forcing manager to lie about performance is not only unethical it is dangerous as it breeds a culture of liars. For a financial institution that has their hands in every aspect of not only the American economy but most of the world – unethical behaviors of creating false reports should be intolerable, but BNYM encourages it. Modeling Enron management practices is not where America should be trusting their money.

Very disappointed in Todd's response here–no guts to take his own stand. Would like to know if his managers, sitting with him on stage, would also be forced ranked? Todd, please reveal the BE amongst this group–as every team needs to be ranked. Maybe it's Mike–which may explain how unhappy he looked sitting in the corner.

The question was phrased to him: "Will you discontinue the required BE ratings given to people that don't deserve them?". His answer was "No, we need to continue to drive excellence". He just acknowledged that BNYMellon has forced ratings and that people are not rated fairly or based purely on measured performance. I guess HR needs to sit down with him to polish up his talking points.
