I believe layoffs are company wide again just like it was the last wave so know one is safe.

May I ask which departments are impacted, or all departments impacted?

How can we continue to work in this environment? I remember when our senior management used to say to us that we were their most valuable asset. Now we are trash that needs to be tossed out every opportunity they have. I hate working here. I would leave if I were younger and didn’t have so many years here.

True. The Monday after Thanksgiving displacement wave and/or benefits cut announcements have actually become an annual BONY Holiday Season kickoff event for well over a decade.

The next wave is the Monday after Thanksgiving Dec 2. They have been having layoffs that day for years. This is not a new thing. There are so many locations that are half occupied. There was an email that said people were coming to each location to get head counts. Probably to figure out layoff and then ship procedures elsewhere such as India, Florida, Syracuse, Manchester, etc. The board of directors plan is to lower headcount, cut expenses, streamline as many functions as possible to increase growth. This was in Charlie’s statement and now Todd’s. The plan is not changing.

I’m hearing the same. Massive cuts over the next few weeks. Pack your things up and take them home. You won’t have another opportunity. Middle Management is to frightened to push back against senior management for fear of their own jobs and being considered insubordinate. Remaining staff will be overburdened. Not sure what’s worse.... being terminated or not being terminated.

I would think that what’s coming is your typical end of the year layoffs during the holiday season. Let’s lay off a bunch of people right before Christmas like we always do, then hire sub par contractors to replace them after New Years. More of the same old same old, and man is it ever getting old! Such a shame it’s gotta be like this

Don't you think they got lawyer as new head of HR especially to achieve their goal legally, avoiding any legal action.

Hearing this every week kind of makes you immune. Sometimes the rumors are right and sometimes its just trolls . Need more details to take this seriously.

The fact that the new head of HR is a lawyer speaks volumes. She knows legally what the company can or cannot do and I’m sure there are plenty of loopholes out there to allow the company to do what they want provided its within legal bounds. At this point, nothing anyone can do but just wait around to see if they survive or not. You can't worry about something that’s out of your control. Nothing will change until there is a massive class action suit then there’ll be changes possibly

They can do whatever they want including shutting the entire company down, if you give them enough time to unwind transactions.

Seems unlikely given that December will be a MONSTER. Can they do 2 big rounds in one quarter?
