Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Further reductions in My Work?

Hearing more people are getting notice requiring going back into an office. Is the program ending?

Remember systems around since early 90s even late 80s and most tech support laid off long ago if few remaining are allowed to WFH a couple days a week... yes probably let them. Quit whining.

I don’t understand why in some areas you can still work from home or you’ve been called back in and can have 2 days a week from home. But in other areas you have to be in the office 5 days.

MyWork 2007-2013 for seasoned pros day began with predawn calls. Work ended late into the evening. And I loved it! Even as a consultant prior to onboard I worked for the bank remotely. I was so impressed with the structure and the enterprise process. In recent years, with BofA almost completely abandoning great programs like MyWork. The structure that I loved so much has crumbled and they lost so many amazing talented professionals by eliminating their MyWork option. Those that stayed after BofA's change to mandate that folks be in the office was a motivational destroyer. I was called back into the office just to sit in a cube on the same meetings I held at home, interacting with no one directly in the office. I watched other drones as they entered their cubes, the thick negative energy in that office setting overwhelming. So what was the difference from me being at home doing this? At home I was up early, having my first cup of coffee, singing, checking and responding to emails, enthusiastically embracing the day. In the office, I spend the first 2 hours getting dressed, making a healthy lunch and commuting. In the office setting I work less hours, I no longer enjoy what I am doing, I take more personal days, I am distracted and my productivity has decreased, When I spoke to a colleagues in other cubes, their experiences and motivations were similar to mine many have shared that they are now only at BofA for a paycheck, not caring if their projects succeed. it seems that BofA does not know that their most valued assets are their experienced dedicated employees.

Yes you can work from home with a valid reason but there’s no more work from home otherwise

Occasional work from home will still be supported where it makes business sense. One example is during inclement weather or building issues.

I call BS on the CAO group comment. More details or go away. I am in the same group and we were just told now that flu season is here, DO NOT come to the office if you think you are sick. If you are well enough to work then work remotely. If you are not well enough to work then take a sick day.

It is absolutely going away. Gone already in most areas. Accept that fact.

I was told this week we are required 100% in the office. No more working from home even on occasion. This is CAO group

They say the MyWork program will remain but most everyone without a medical exception will be required to move into an office or relocated to a hub and if that is not possible then laid-off. This is based on observation of other employees. There seems to be a pickup of notices for this past few months.

I can give you first hand were the stand. The remote office app is going away except for the executives, all workers will be moved back into the bank offices (they will be let go if they cannot make the trip to work) and finally the wonderful TRIFACTA migration will continue to replace humans because we care...

I think it depends on the area, but in most areas the program is only for medical exceptions or if you are too far from any office

  1. R. already answered that question early this year - “mywork doesn’t work” for the strategy of the bank and that he is working on getting everyone back in the office. he is focused on getting rid of mywork even if the talent is top rated. it is just a matter of time.

The My Work progam is not going away. However, no one will answer questions at Town Halls or skip-level meetings about the status of the 3,000 technology people still in the program. I wish they would communicate where we stand.
