Pay attention to your engagement with the manager. If they do not engage you, start looking fast!! This is almost a guarantee you will be laid off. This applies at any company especially BNY.

Tech team from Pittsburgh is poor?! Then how come Pittsburgh is always forced to rewrite “tested and QA’d” code from Chennai in a fraction of the time.

No, “banks” are not laying off people. Poorly managed non-competitive banks are laying off people. Well managed banks are doing just fine.

Recession is coming, part of the Europe is already getting hit hard. US will feel in 2020, probably PGH office will either be closed or reduced to min because Management is against Tech team from PGH(poor quality). Good luck Tech folks in PGH.

January has been historically the largest lay-offs for the year. This year will be no different that the last several years. Good luck!

I think it's safe to say you can expect layoffs pretty much every month as they automate functions. Even before, because they need the money to pay for it. So expect more work to cover until they don't need you.
