Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Bonus time is the same this year?

I remember someone said it's delayed to summer?

Getting a pay cut upon being promoted to officer due to a loss of overtime pay is a rite of passage in banking... all banks, no exceptions that I’ve ever seen. It has absolutely nothing to do with BNYM. Everybody who demonstrates career potential beyond clerical abilities becomes an exempt employee. I looked at it as half full 36 years ago, but it turns out that it can be as full as you want it to be.

If you’ve been here long enough you know that salary increases have not been “pushed to summer”. They’ve actually been pushed back 18 months, I.e., one year plus 6 months to summer..

Bonuses like salaries are a joke in bny to begin with. Many people actually end up with a pay cut upon being promoted to an officer for the free overtime

Yes, late February. Every employee at a J level or higher is eligible for a bonus, but bonuses will be reduced significantly based on poor 2019 performance. Employees at grades up to i can get outperformance awards of up to 2500, although I'm not sure how common that is.

Upper management are the only ones who get bonuses. Everyone else gets a pitiful pay increase that we see mid-year. This whole place is a load of sh–!
