It is better elsewhere. BNY is sub-standard in many respects. Low pay, many disinterested managers with no idea how to manage people or what function they manage. New managers who bring in their cronies and never bother to even meet existing employees, let alone get to know what they do. Too many administrative and managerial levels. Not enough people to do the actual work. And the way staff reductions are handled is nothing short of shameful. “Skip level” meetings are basically a dream. Yes, there are many better places.
The problems are industry wide except you don't get garbage pay, that's why bny don't mind slackers because they got what they paid for

Lol, things are better when you are compensated for it. I guarantee you'd get laughed at if you tried to valuate yourself in terms of salary during your first initial interview elsewhere because you'd ask for something too low. That's how underpaid bny is.
I loved working at Citigroup. It was a well managed company. Actually received bonuses there.
