To those recent college grads in need of a job. Take Bny Mellon off your list. They’re shipping jobs to India, the pay is brutal, and upper management, out of boredom, makes you complete irrelevant tasks.
My group of 30 got got knocked down to 13 within 3 years. I got exceeding expectations continuously, promoted etc. But my salary is still below the starting salary at Federated, PNC, Dollar Bank, Key Bank on and on.
They’re a sinking ship and you can do better.
You CAN climb the ladder here ... downward
BONY has always been the place where recent grads come in, work for 1-2 years, and then move on. This is NOT the company where you will climb the company ladder.
What the grad meant was that they won't be whiny lifers and move on at some point anyway
Recent college grads will be fine huh? The company has been having layoffs over a year, no one is safe. Jobs have been outsourcing for over 10 years now and it will continue. More like college grads will have to go back to school for a trade skill. But hey believe what you want because you know better. Good luck with that.
Sinking ship? Probably. Will you leave? No. Why? Because it’s easier to sit where you are and whine then get up and make a change in your life. So yes, thank you ever so much for warning us but I think us recent college grads will be just fine.
