Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Dec. 16th & Jan 14/15

I heard from a very credible source (my direct - Senior Management) that individuals with BE.. and even achieved ratings will be targeted the week of Dec. 16th and also Jan 14 and 15.

No layoffs this week. Your credible source is not so credible.

Big cuts for next week. Some senior meetings early week and then they will happen within days. Estimate 450

I heard from a very credible source that this is a troll. One, no one is that sinister to go the week before Christmas. Two, your dates of a Tuesday/Wednesday are garbage. Like clockwork it will happen after MLK day...the week after your “prediction” . Everyone just calm down, either way you’re still getting paid for a while.

I'm a manager, I have not heard of any more December cuts. They were last week. Next cuts are January

Apparently 120 cuts between London and Dublin on way over next few weeks!

Don't know why these clowns are doubting layoffs, it's literally the same exact pattern they did last year

There are levels of management at the organisation that are nothing short of shocking. They spend their time looking at what clothes their female colleagues are wearing rather than working. However they are sly enough to spend 30 minutes a day on their PC posting on MSS. Its about time these rats were rooted out.

to 1vrg. You know for last 4 - 5 years after each major lay off people like you try to calm down rest of worker just to force them quietly wait for their turn. Like one of my co-worker say it like cutting dog tail piece by piece and calm out dog after each cutting.

My manager also inform me about coming separation and that I will be a target few week before it happened. It all depends on personality of manager. In today days when organization force managers to evaluate their good workers with fault "BE" and separate high level workers only because they are over 50 and have 20+ years of service, some honest managers who feel that this is wrong and even discriminative, may inform target employee privately to let them time to prepare.

Good one "be nice to your boss". The ones drinking the Corp. Kool-aid will hopefully be the ones cut next. As per Morgan Stanley, the new playbook is to downsize managing director positions. Good riddance, you have shown no regard or care for your employees. Nobody will miss you when your gone, with your overvalued salaries and bonus.

Well, there's no disputing the large layoffs this past Jan and Feb. And remember, they are 'staff actions'

Folks,

There were ~850 staff actions that occurred in January this year immediately following the MLK holiday.

There were additional staff actions that occurred immediately following the President’s day holiday in February although I don’t recall that number (was in the hundreds).

This has actually happened the last 5 years, however, the number of staff actions were the largest I’ve seen this year (2019).

Expect more of the same.

Don't do that . Don't give me hope . Hope they lay me off this time of the year with severance pay in Christmas holidays . Let 2020 be a new beginning .

I cannot see this happening unless it's in India as they have different holidays. Jan timeframe would seriously impact clients for year end. I doubt this is true unless it's for a specific team or something.
