Remember... check out Wells Fargo & Co.
not sure about Pittsberg. But there are layoffs still pending in Pittsburgh
Guaranteed that there will not be any staff actions in Pittsberg.
My brother is working in Pittsberg as VP from India on a 2 yr contract. Is there a chance he could be layed off too even if he is on a contract?
Greater of the two, not both
what did you get for sub?
Is "SUB" 2 weeks per year of service PLUS the bulk amount of weeks determined by level (I, J,K,L.M etc)?
Or is it just the greater of the two, not added together.
Yeah economy did great. The CEO,s and companies made lots of money. The people, not so much. If you had big gains in your 401k and mutual funds- guess what. Your gonna need to spend them when your out of work and taking a one of the growing jobs in the fast food industry.
2bak, it's not just BNY. Every bank out there has the same playbook. Consolidate, automate and outsource. The whole industry is transforming. If you are coming out if school now, you should look elsewhere. You can tell people it's them but how many managers and vp's were cut only because of their salaries. So you keep working hard for that reward.
2bak,i agree... To blame the raging economy because you lack skills desired elsewhere and work for a vicious industry is asinine. If bny isn't growing then gtfo on your own. To the lurkers and still on the titanic, wake the f up and do something with your lives.
Taco Bell is growing, BNY is not!
We actually are experiencing the best economy ever in most of our lifetimes. True, stock market indices do not equal the economy. But they’re great everybody who wants to participate and when you add in wage growth, pay increases, unemployment rate, labor participation percent and low inflation all adds up to best economy since the 1950’s. The poor me whining here blows my mind... you work for a bad company but you’re not working in a bad economy. Make a job move now while it’s easy or just sit back and enjoy these incredibly good times.
i'm getting laid off from my data entry job being in a cutthroat industry where the name of the game is cutting expenses...therefore economy is bad wahhhhhhhh. Forget the fact that >30% returns on domestic funds outperfoming the best global funds...things aren't working out for me therefore entire economy bad wahhhhhhh. You got places like taco bell paying managers 100k just because the job market is too tight. Up yo f'n game.
Doc custody is being outsurced to iron mountain as Feb 3 and being consolidated to Dallas. Pittsburgh is closing down as soon as all docs in our vaulte are awung out to Dallas which is forecast to be done in summer.
Best economy is relative. My 401k is doing great, so if your investments are in the market, good for you. That what capitalism is all about: capital. This company is no socialist’s dream, thats for aure.
We are not having the best economy ever. Stock market indices do not equal the economy.
Don’t quit, line employees. Update your resume and get a reality check while you wait for the severance package. You’ll have a plan, whatever happens.
Managers, have a different problem. The company is forcing you to comply with unethical and hurtful policies. You could be laid off anyway, but you might be better off finding another job and moving on. No severance package is worth the hurt you cause, or your guilty conscience.
For sure, layoffs will continue. My department has been laying off regularly for over five years, and had stopped promotions even before that.
I was amazed that so many of us remain here, as bad as it is. But I know a lot of people laid off that now have no income and are still unemployed. Hard to believe since we are having the best economy ever, but true. Good luck to all!
It’s never over. It hasn’t been over for years. You can count on layoffs each week of a quarterly earning report.
nahmeannns!!
Don't quit yall. Get ya severance package, get ya unemployment checks and take yo time findin another job. Make these fückers pay up FOREAL
