Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Any word on layoffs in 2020?

No raise again. 15% smaller bonus. Expenses up. EPS only up due to share buybacks. Things seem shaky. Still lots of idle unproductive staff around.

Tiny raise. Smaller bonus. Hoping to get laid off after 16 years is a weird place to be.

Get out while you can. The Bank does not care about you. No amount of working more then 40 hours a week can save you. No amount of kissing your bosses a– will save you. No amount of going to endless "Team Meeting" and volunteering in the community will save you. No amount of meeting goals will save you. Case in point: I had a perfect record, did it all, fell on my sword and work long hours in the prisons. Nothing helped when QA said I had too many "issues" yet could not point to anything I did wrong.

I used to believe the Bank was motivated to retain employees. When you boast of stellar quarterly earnings but people don't get raises (some year over year) and bonus is the same if you get one, there's a serious disconnect. People are here to earn money and pay their bills. Enough of the extra amenities (networks, bull runs, site activites) if it means sacrificing money in my pocket. Give me a raise for my great performance not free pretzels or a department outing!!!

Very dysfunctional company. Lots of duplication of effort, internal competition, favoritism, out of touch managers, low productivity.

BAML IB Is bloated. Too many people that do nothing but play politics all day hoping to get promoted. They need to cut MDs and Directors. Too many people at all levels being payed to surf the internet all day. MDs being payed to build empires bringing in mates and more useless staff. And they want to be like Goldman’s! You’ll never be like Goldman’s because you can’t afford to be lazy at Goldman’s! promotion system is rigged and not at all about merit.its more to do with fear of losing knowledge - a side affect of mismanagement. Ive watched people in breakout areas binge watching on their phones!
Directors who spend all day at coffee places gossiping - apparently having 1 to 1s that’s when they aren’t in the gym.
I know people that dont even put in max 2 hours a day. People know how to play the system.
Stop complaining about salary if you don’t want to work hard why should you get paid Or be promoted? I’m just enjoying being paid for having the best work life balance, I could work harder but why should I? Hopefully at some point they’ll get rid of me and I’ll take the money feel refreshed having not put in any effort and get a pay hike by getting another job somewhere else!

I’m training my replacement who has NO experience whatsoever. And my manager avoids me even more than usual. So that’s a great sign.
