BNY Mellon coronavirus plan???

Has anyone heard about any kind of DR plan in place for BNY Mellon in case of coronavirus? Goldman Sachs announced today that they are restricting employee travel to South Korea and parts of Italy. You would hope that BNY Mellon will have a similar policy in place, If not implemented already.

BNY Mellon has offices all over the world. All it would take is for 1 employee to bring that coronavirus back to 240 Greenwich or One Mellon Center, and then you’d have a real problem on your hands.

Below is the statement from Goldman Sachs:

We are restricting all business travel to, from and within South Korea, as well as the Lombardy and Veneto regions in Italy, and asking that non-essential business travel to other parts of Italy and Asia be postponed. In addition to the previous policy for mainland China, all employees who have traveled to South Korea or the impacted regions in Italy, or who have been in close contact with individuals who have been to these areas, are required to remain out of the office for at least 14 days.

Once this virus starts spreading around India BONY will be in trouble. Teams I have dealt with don’t have access to work remotely. How do you initiate BCP? Have the whole company working remotely? Thoughts?

They still have people traveling to India and coming back this week while complaining of having possible upper respiratory infections or some illness while there. They could give two sh–s as long as they can continue off boarding our jobs. They have a half assed plan for travel and another for taking precautions here. Not everyone has the ability to work from home and they don’t give a sh– about those folks who aren’t being allowed to

A few months ago someone came back to 240G from a trip to Asia and spreaded the flu to several people on his/her floor.

If NYC has confirmed cases of the virus, you better stay away from the office. I've seen people here who doesn't even wash their hands with soap before leaving the restroom.

Anyone with a BE rating will be relocated to China or Italy.

How will they handle situations where people can’t work from home, but are afraid they are ill?

Disability?

Are people REQUIRED to have the ability to work from home?

If you don’t have the setup to work from home, can they MANDATE that you risk your life by coming into the office?

There are all kinds of scenarios and questions.

I saw several good email communications about coronavirus planning including rules to stay at home for different lengths of time, particularly with certain travel and location patterns. I was favorably impressed and surprised with the obvious attention and effort that they are putting into it.

Oh yeah, like I trust management to plan for this properly. With our 'collaborative' physical space where everyone is piled on top of each other, it's more likely to be spread in the office.

Not for nothing but it’s the least of your problems catching the virus at work. What about subways, trains, etc. It will get to a point everyone will be working from home. Wait until this hits India.

You know there’s been multiple emails sent company wide about this? I know this is “complain about management” forum but complain about something real, not something you were just too lazy to read yourself.

BNY's plan is to relocate to a local Korean or Italian eatery in midtown. Possibly Chinatown.
