Greenfield project is a joke, if you worked or working BNY Greenfield project and you think you know what’s greenfield is, and try tell people , they will take it as a joke. Be careful those who were laid off and looking for cloud based roles. Make sure you do your homework before interviewing.

This is an effort that could use its own form of hand sanitizer to k–l its germs.

Agreed on the last 2 comments, since I'll never get the flux capacitor into production.

Greenfield is great, I can't wait to fill out the TST and DVM documents to complete the PTD checklist and then ask my manager to send a confirmation email that the PRG is good to go once the business analyst signs off on the GKL this weekend.

This is the truth. When I interviewed at BNY and was told I would be working on a "greenfield" project, I was like AWWW YEAH! Then I found out not only was this not an actual greenfield project, the people working at the company didn't understand what greenfield means in the industry. When I mentioned this, people just looked at me like I was an id–t. OF COURSE greenfield means a su!cide march to convert the entire company to a predetermined tech stack, what else could it mean?

I knew I was in the wrong place.

My time working at BNY was pretty much the lowest point in my professional career. Everything about the technical organization is just wrong from the top down. Thankfully that's all behind me now and ironically I'm working on an actual greenfield project at my new job.
