Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Bonus for those laid off

I was laid off in September of 2019. Our team has historically always received bonuses. Would I still be eligible for one since I was working most of the year? The language in the sub packet touches on this but is not clear. I’m sure it’s up to their discretion and that there is no repercussion if they don’t give me one.

The bonus you would get now is for the year of 2019, and if you worked most or all of the year you could possibly get a bonus, even if you're laid off now. I verified this with the HR rep in my exit interview.

A guy was laid off in EMEA office this week, just before bonus kicks in.
A great way to save money.
No notice period, just "presence unknown" on his Lync status.

Thank you. I’ll call the SUB contact at BNYM to inquire.

If you worked at least 6 months in the year of termination, you "could" get a prorated amount. I did pay out to those in that situation in the past, however that may have changed as it has been a year since I was in the organization.
